Girl let me tell you a funny story. About 5 years ago some guy that wanted to date me mentioned he like to be spoiled (lmao just smite me) I was just like nope, nah, never happening. I think I actually wished him good luck in finding that and I ghosted him weeks later.
Fast forward to 2019 and I see him single, eating with his buddies at some restaurant while I was walking by holding hands with my boo (who actually liked picking up the tab and agreed to spoil me) Dude! like I wanted to laugh because these lvm never do win 😂
I have a few stories where I noped out at a red flag years ago. And these same guys are still single in 2020🤣

At my first retail job I worked with a guy, in his mid 30s with several kids, describe in detail how he got women to buy him things. He targeted women with low self-esteem, single, usually with kids. He didn't have a car so he would ask them for a ride or tag along when said women went grocery shopping. He would put on a sad "I can't afford groceries" act, he would moppe around and get free groceries and whatever video game he wanted. My mind was blown every time I heard him talk about the several women he was doing this to.

My husband would literally not let me buy him a PS5 if I offered. I planned to get him a PS4 for his birthday as a surprise and he ended up buying it before I had the chance, and when I told him I wanted to get him that, he told me there was no way he would let me spend $500+ on him for a birthday gift

Same. My fiancé feels uncomfortable if I spend more than $50 on him for his birthday/Christmas, but will regularly buy me more valuable gifts on any random day just because. We use the PlayStation as our main hub (run Netflix off it and use it for Blu-ray) so I suggested going split on the ps5 but he refuses.

I agree, and I say this as someone who plays lots of videogames myself. The problem is that generally male gamers self-label themselves as gamers, as if it's a valid thing to call yourself?? And will put most focus on their lives on that, aka they neglect other parts of their life.
I can play 10-12hrs straight too, but you best believe I , put my skincare products and sunblock, cleaned, cooked, washed my dishes, did my laundry, went for a walk, etc, before I even touched my consoles.

There is more to being a “gamer” than just playing video games.
I said on here a few days ago that if the only self-described identity a man has is “nice” then he’s boring, ugly and most likely not nice. Something can be said for gamers - if the only identity you have is that you participate in an activity that is quite literally one of the most popular pastimes in modern culture the you probably are a toxic person.

Playing games is not a label that describes a person, it's just one hobby, anyone with a phone can play videogames, it's not a fucking unique identity or anything else. 100% perfect comparison with the "nice" label bullshit, it doesn't say anything about how good, interesting, passionate, etc a person is.

I bought my ex a switch with a game and he never plays it. About $400 expense. He had even expressed interest and I consulted his best friend about the purchase. Basically just don't buy your SO a $400 gift of anything that isn't like a piece of furniture or an object you can also use and benefit from.
