I always multiple date. In hindsight, the guys who suspected it (because I was unavailable in the weekend for example) and the guy who knew because we started as friends all love bombed the living hell out of me.

They wanted to put a label on it so fast. The only guy who knew for a fact that I dated other people really put up a fight when I chose ‘the other guy’ and made me change my mind. I chose him in the end (big mistake, cheating fiancé).

It made me choose differently than if I had taken more time and vetted better. I think multiple dating can be good, but you should be really careful and don’t let the guys know or suspect it.

of course, men will actually take the initiative if they believe another man is in the picture (because they can't fathom losing to another man, not because they actually like you.) men don't even like to do the work to communicate and put in effort when you've got a slightly busy schedule and aren't at the ready to respond to their ever so stimulating "wyd?" 🙄

This is why they like to say "I only date one at a time and I expect the same for you". Thing is, they might not be able to date more than one woman at a time due to finances, inability to attract more than one person, or other variables (he could also just be lying). But that shouldn't stop women from not keeping their options open. Date around, see what you like and what you don't, never settle just because he insists you do so.

I used to have set dates two weeks ahead because I was already booked on the weekends because I worked late during the week and couldn't set weekday dates.

"Oh, you want to hang? I'm busy the next two weekends. Let's meet on day X."

They (hetero men) get so upset that we (hetero women) are doing the same thing they do... further proving they know what they do isn’t comfortable for women but only care when they’re not the center of attention. Spent 3 years of my life openly dating without commitment and letting my dates know. And wouldn’t you know it, none of them were happy when I told them (never kept it a secret). They’d try to negotiate with me, as if I cared to do such a thing.
