Yeah I had a 50 year old acquaintance roughly 30 yrs older than me and he told me he thinks this waitress really likes him and he’s thinking of asking her out...

Turns out this waitress was like ONLY 20 years old or something, a slim and cute or adorably average girl and then she got her first boyfriend ever, also a 20 year old man.

This man was one of the most obese people I’ve ever interacted with irl, he was of ill health, his face was way below average, and he thought that him and this young normal looking girl was also interested in him.

Men delude themselves into thinking you like them even if they are the lowest SMV man you’ve ever seen. Literally.

Men are absolutely delusional.

For those who are still convinced it's because they're not pretty enough:

The supposedly average looking woman is usually clean, well-dressed and cute.

The average looking man looks like potato.

The man putting in as much effort as a supposedly average looking woman is considered HOT, because men are taught it's fine to do sweet fuck all about their appearance.

Constantly struggling to look hotter because you believe you're not enough despite spending a significant amount of time, effort and money on your appearance is feeding the system.

Confidently rejecting men who obviously fail to meet the same standard as you is breaking the system.

I mean there are actually studies highlighting this. Men's brains are prone to convincing them women are far more interested in them than reality or logic would have anyone else believe. I also read somewhere that men rate themselves far more attractive than they are and especially against how women rate themselves. There's a third one somewhere about uglier men having more sperm- my point is, their own body knows how ugly they are and still wants desperately to pass on their genes, so their brain forces them to try their shot in situations that don't even make sense or may fail.

Back when I used to use Tinder, I came up with a theory that the more greasy faced a boy is, the more likely they are to behave like a sex pest. Don’t let their delusions about their chances with you affect you!

I would swipe right on ALL boys that had certain jobs that interested me, not because I was interested in them, but because tinder picks up on it and shows you more men in that field, saving you swiping through as many deadbeats.

This meant I was matching with a LOT of scrawny basement dwellers with adult acne, these weirdos would ALWAYS message something ridiculously forward and sexual, like “hey gorgeous would you like me to lick between your legs? 😘” (this is a real message I received, from one of these neckbeards)

I don’t know what gives them the audacity. The good looking boys however, regardless of them being HVM or LVM, would atleast keep their messages PG rated.

It’s also always the adult acne types that have “only looking for casual fun 😏” as their bios. Like excuse me, beggars can’t be choosers.

See: “manic pixie dream girl” trope of “hot but funny girl, NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS, develops immediate and unexplained investment in unattractive, generic man and CHANGES HIS LIFE with her hotness and spunky humor! Suddenly, his existence has meaning and he is validated. His laundry is done and his fingernails are finally clipped.” 😭

I don't get the nerve of some men. I have a male acquaintance in my life....I will call him Steve. Steve turns 35 this year. Steve did go from 300 lbs of fat to fit and muscular, I will give him that. But Steve can't decided whether or not he's Christian (he waffles on that) and Steve did the bare minimum to get his foot in the door at a huge software engineering firm. Like he can code in one language. And he's never been to college. He has one certification. And no desire to learn any more. I've met some of Steve's coworkers in passing. They're super smart. If they don't have a masters degree in engineering, they can code in many languages and have piles of certifications from Microsoft and Google. Steve makes so little that he has to share a house with five other men. Where we live, for an engineer, that's odd. Steve is also divorced.

Steve's ideal girlfriend is under 30, preferably under 25, has a masters degree in something, her own place, and is fit. Steve has dated three of my friends. They dumped him because Steve was bossy and wanted to tell them what to do and also, to them, Steve is lacking in ambition, and he's not on their level.

I personally don't get why Steve thinks he's worthy of a woman ten years younger than him who is far more educated and successful than he is. But he thinks he's worth it.

Reminds me of the gross old man at the grocery who just point blank asked me if I was single. I just looked at him in shock, so he repeated it again more urgently. I told him I like being single and got the hell away from him. I think I was friendly to him and that's what made him "shoot his shot". What's even worse is that I look really young even though I'm almost 40. This guy was in his 60s🤢🤢🤢

I've been stared at and hit on very often since I hit puberty. Some were hot and some were borderline deformed. It's not us. It's them.

I've seen it commented on this sub that your attractiveness level doesn't determine the quality of attention you get, just the quantity, and I definitely think that applies here. Men are going to hit on women that they find attractive, it's just what they do. That's why it's on us to be as discriminating as possible. It follows from FDS ideology that we shouldn't take any man's desire as valuable or as a reflection of our own value. Don't be insulted. Just pass.

I’ve had a guy in my apt approach me randomly at night, asking for my number. He wasn’t my type at all, but I gave him my number so that he doesn’t do weird shit to me, considering we live in same apt. He asked me out, and date wasn’t good and asked me out the day before again and when i refused , he asked if he could come to my apt and starting to send paragraphed texts.

Never again.

I tend to act more shy and reserved infront of guys I like. So when I talk a lot it means I don’t like the guy.

i made an account on an app and my picture was of a hot 19 year old model. a man messaged me offering me fifty dollars for sex. it was mindblowing. I don't know why they are so delusional about themselves but they just are.
