I have a friend that is somewhere around the top 5% of all women on OF (she might have moved up recently, I haven’t asked). She genuinely doesn’t make that much per month, and her mental health has taken an obvious hit. Assuming your friend even had the luck to make it toward the top it is not going to be the easy and glamorous lifestyle it is portrayed to be. Selling hundreds of vulnerable pictures and videos of yourself for $5 a month that a scrote will inevitably screenshot and share is horrible.

Honestly, though, don’t make her problems your problems. If she has already convinced herself then all you’re going to accomplish is wasting your own time and having her think you’re jealous or trying to hold her back. I acknowledge you’re trying to do a nice thing and I respect it, but you have to let people make their own choices (even if they are really bad choices). She likely is aware of the consequences anyway.

I would just tell her that it’s way too much of an over saturated market and not even the top 10% of creators make a lot. And it’s traceable on your tax returns and any future jobs will see that. Also that because the market is so saturated a lot of creators get pressured into doing more degrading painful stuff just to stand out. Most men will eventually want more than tit pictures.

The average income is $150 a month…

She could also have the risk of being stalked by one of the creeps.

You can't save everyone.. I know that you don't want to see your friend do it and let her go through the consequences but you can only really lead by example.. her other friend who does OF will eventually be in a bad place and you will still be standing. Hopefully your friend will see that you made the wiser choice..

Once she loses her looks, and it can happen due to an injury, depression, staying in an abusive relationship, aging… she won’t be able to find a serious job. Why is it your job to save her? This is no different to trying to change a man. She is capable of making her own decisions and will do what she wants regardless of how much sense you try to slap into her.

If she wanted to put her head down and work hard to get a respectable job (that won’t render her unemployable anywhere else and essentially force her to stay in the sex trade), she would.

Ditch the saviour complex and focus on your own level up journey. That’s the best example you can set for any friend.

How about you stop shouldering responsibility that isn't yours and find friends that are smarter than you are instead of dumber? If her own experiences and knowledge haven't convinced her OF is a bad idea, while you know that's what it is, what could you possibly do to change her mind?
