Funny, I used to think “you never care” and “you never apologize” about my ex husband because (spoiler alert) he was cold to me and never apologized. I never felt this way about current husband because he makes sure I always feel loved and he’s big enough to say sorry when he should.

There are people who will scorch the earth looking for excuses to why others tell them they’re shitty because they don’t want to come to terms with what shitty people they actually are. These two are an example.

Keep in mind this “cognitive dissonance” excuse only applies to when women tell men about how they’re lacking. But if a man were to say how a woman “never listens” then he’s being serious and it’s true. I’m tired of this gaslighting bullshit. You’re a terrible boyfriend/husband. Just admit it.

This is why the “just communicate” advice that some subreddit’s like to give is useless 90% of the time. You can communicate till you’re blue in the face but if you’re the only one in the relationship actively communicating it’s not going to work. When you’re in a relationship with a LVM, your “communicating” is going to go on one ear and out the other. Communicating your needs in a relationship only works when you’re already with a HVM.

I particularly hate when Arab/South Asian men act like little victims to women. Insane and weak considering the leg up on women they are already born into. There literally nothing more pathetic in the world.

This is not cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance, for plain example, is saying "I love all animals equally" while eating a cow. Basically, it's total hypocrisy. It's saying you believe in something while actively doing the complete opposite.

In the ten years I’ve been with my husband, I’ve never even dreamed of saying “you don’t make me happy” and he’s never even suggested anything remotely close to that either. In fact we tell each other often how happy our relationship makes us.

Hearing somebody you love actually tell you that you make them miserable, and choosing to use that to blame them instead of looking inward at your own actions, is the sign of a nasty, unempathetic person imo. Definitely nobody to be taking relationship advice from.
