When they persist on doing this, I burn my bridges so epicly, they NEVER come back again.

Ex one - kept sending me flirty messages and dick pics. I sent the messages and pics to his current girlfriend.

Ex two - kept trying to hook up and was getting abusive and admitting to taking drugs too. So I sent the messages to his family to get him help and to his current girlfriend.

Ex three - was insanely abusive and threatening and basically destroyed my life after having an affair with a work colleague (we were long term married with kids.) I reported him to the owner of his workplace, various government departments and more. He ended up getting fired and then in jail.

Never heard from them again 🤣

They also can have a new girl but are looking to cheat.

Honestly nothing good comes from the coming back, no they didn’t grow or learn anything. If you take him back you’ll realize he’s the same man

Speaking from experience, my ex didn't want to see me thrive. He wanted me to depend on him while receiving nothing in return. He wanted to control me because my former pickme self used to let him.

Couldn’t be more true, one had the audacity to find my tumblr account and messege me on there months late wanting to be friends again. I blocked him so fast. Last night a mutual friend and I were talking and she was telling me how much an incel nice guy trope he has become. Boy I am glad I cut him off at the first sign of disrespect. He’s now blocked on everything. So glad I learnt earlier this year to never give my phone number out otherwise I would have had to block on that too. They always come back 🤡

Yup, mine said he got me a birthday gift (after not getting me anything for years), but he “left it in his car.” Either he doesn’t know how the postal system works or there’s no gift. Neither would surprise me at this point.

These men simply do not care. It’s all empty promises and zero execution. They’re just vying for our attention and trying to weasel their way back in. They try to win us over with dollar store garbage…but it’s too late. Per the FDS mantra - “if he wanted to, he would” - have treated you well DURING the relationship.

If they keep harassing you, all you can do is block and delete.

Never again.

My ex did that too, even when said he didn't want to do such and such for me. But when we broke up he was apparently going to give me all these things (and suddenly remembered things I actually wanted instead of what he wanted and bought for me) and he never did. So when was he going to? In two years? In six? If he was just about to, then why didn't he? With what money anyway?

They're like bloody boomerangs! My ex did this and I'm so glad I had a strong-mind sister looking out for me because part of me was flattered by his apologies and grovelling message. The sensible part of my brain of course knew he'd likely sent similar messages to all his exes to see who was dumb enough to bite 🙄

I have a bad ex from an ill-advised workplace relationship. And he's been haunting my life for literal years. Because of work, I can't block him entirely, but I ignore any kind of personal communication and answer with as few words as possible any work-related emails. But this dude reaches out to me anywhere from every 3 months to 3 times a week, it's extremely variable, and there seems to be no point or goal to it. There will be periods of intensity that seem to have nothing to do with me, then he'll wander off for a while and I'll think he's done, then boom, he's back.

I assume that he thinks that if I respond at all, then he couldn't have been so bad or been totally in the wrong, if I'm still speaking with him. And so it's some kind of ego thing. Or it may even be actively abusive - he knows that I don't want to hear from him, but also knows that I won't make a scene by taking it to HR to explain the dirty laundry of our history. Every communication is carefully bland and nothing that would support disciplining him.

I've heard of women who get this kind of endless contact from exes or hookups for years on social media, and it's like these guys just need to remind you (and anyone who can see their activity on your page) that he's "had" you. Knows that you don't want to hear from him, gets off on upsetting you, maybe wants to be absolved of his wrongdoing. Guarantee that he's with another woman.

Yes, they never leave and it's super weird and desperate...this one guy was being inconsistent asf...wouldn't call, took 95 years to reply to my messages, never wanted to plan a real date, and didn't want to commit to me, so when I finally got tired of it, I started to ghost him and he wasn't taking the hint and kept double texting me to the point where I had to block him....something is very wrong with males who behave that way...
