Yesterday was my birthday! Overall had a great day, but as usual, some scrote had to put a slight damper on things.

Story time: I went to [major smell-good bath chain], and was looking to buy some body wash, which I usually do around my birthday and around Christmas. As I was standing there sniffing good-smelling stuff, this guy breezed past me, RIGHT behind me, and I said, hey, can't you go around? I mean, HELLO PEOPLE, WE ARE STILL IN A PANDEMIC AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS STILL IN FORCE! (It's not enforced, though, and can't be... I get that. It's just highly recommended for, YOU KNOW, health and safety.)

He said, uh, yeah, I could have gone around, it'd be easier if you moved.

FUCK THE ENTITLEMENT. I was so done. I yelled back after him, NO, I THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR ME IF YOU HAD GONE AROUND! Then added "fuck you" under my breath and I know a few sales associates heard me, and I did not care. I hate that. I hate some taller dude thinking he has the right to go anywhere he pleases, anytime, under any circumstance, even a fucking pandemic. It would have cost nothing but some extra thought and a few steps simply to go around me, in this pandemic time, but no, expediency above all and who cares if a woman is "in his way". Oh the irony if he was shopping for his girlfriend or wife; what a charming treasure she has in him. What a fucking moron.

Ladies, I'm curious how you deal with space encroachment. I've never dealt with it well at all! When I was a kid in elementary school, boys used to stretch way back, into other people's spaces, and I used to pull their elbows back and hurt their backs and tell them, don't get in my space. I'm an absolute BADGER about my space, and always have been, partly because I'm female and 5'5". I won't be touched randomly, or moved out of the way, and I've fought my entire life to take up space in the world, own that space, be unmovable.

How has this played out for you all in the real world, at work, and/or in dating? Thanks.
