One of the most telling things a LVM has ever said to me is "You know, I can see why Mike Pence calls his wife Mother" This was stated immediately post-sex session while we were in bed cuddling. Previously in the evening he had told me about all his work drama, childhood traumas, and joked that I was his therapist. He had asked me to do his laundry and I had refused. But once he said that a lightbulb went off in my head, he wanted a friends with benefit who would also be his mother, and my dumbass was hoping I'd somehow get a relationship out of it. They all have mommy issues and they know exactly what they're doing. Lesson learned, thank goodness for personal growth, therapy, and FDS.

Fucking UGGHH!!! My ex somehow disliked and also idealized his mother? He had this idea of her as “a single mom raising 3 kids all on her own” and if she could do that then how could I have PPD? Never mind that he and his siblings were all raised by extended family hundreds of miles from mom until they were 10+ years old, at which point they were shipped off to boarding schools where they lived even during summer vacations until they went off to college and then never went back home. But, yeah, me having two kids under two and literally no support whatsoever was totally comparable

Any man who believes in unconditional love or some form of it has mommy issues. It’s insane how MOST men actually believe a woman should love them unconditionally. I have yet to meet a woman who thinks that.
