I’m a rape victim and I don’t even know what to say to that. In fact, my advice would be to go through with the break up if it’s really the way he feels, and tell her (truthfully) the reason for it is that he’s a giant piece of trash who isn’t good enough for her and was lucky to even have a relationship with her at all, nevermind one that lasted as long as it did, and she deserves better.

"Hey so I'm a 25 year old male and I have been dating this 20 year old female for 3 years now. The bombshell that she dropped on me was that she had been raped before by one of the guys that her mom brought home. I felt really bad when she told me this and she even cried, but at that moment all I could think of was, that means I wasn't her first like she had told me. Now I know this may sound selfish but, I loved her because I felt that she was pure. Girls in my circle are always so snobby and slutty, I don't like them. I thought she was a pure girl from the poor side of town who I could take in and fall in love with, but after hearing that she had been raped, she is no longer pure in my mind.

I told her to never mention it to me again and she agreed, but I don't think she understood the reason why I asked her to. I don't want to bring this up because she was so emotional when she told me, but I also don't want a girl with me who has been raped before.

1: He was her first. He doesn’t get to determine when or where her virginity is. You can not lose your virginity in a nonconsensual situation. Not that virginity even matters to anyone but the owner! If she said he was her first, then that’s how she feels. If he thought her unslutty before literally nothing about her has changed. How the heck do you going to slut shame someone who was raped?
