This whole “what if” is just to excuse rape. A species can not be “repopulated” with anything less than 120 individual genetic strains. The offspring of two people (particularly two that have survived disease or some kind of cataclysmic event) would die out within two generations.
These men should just say what they really mean: “if there were no consequences, i’d rape”

When I was a teen, I thought what I would do if I come to be on a deserted island for some reason, and the only other person there would be a male. I proceeded, that I would move to the other end of the island, taking care as good as possible, that this guy wouldn't notice me. Since I already knew back then, what men are capable of doing to women, and knew I wouldn't be safe around one.
