I thought I understood what the "left" was, until I got into men's issues and saw how people on the left responded. Then, I needed to update my understanding due to new data. It was a long, sad process.

Agree. I would like to join a movement that takes into account the interests of both genders (and doesn't forget about non-binary people). It's impossible to achieve gender equality without taking into consideration the problems of one of the genders, because women's and men's problems are closely connected. Often they are two parts of one problem (social expectations from women are mirror reflections of social expectations from men).

Recently I had big argument with my brother, he told me I'm a mysogynist... I asked him why he thinks that. Couldn't give me a proper answer, 'I'm... just sure you are, cause things you say'. Turns out, the things I sometimes say are never against women but pro equality...so eventually it was just left at 'you are mysogynist because when you get out of a relationship you say bitter things about dating women'

Moral of the story, you can't support men's rights or openly ask for equality, that makes you a mysogynist and people, even those who love you, will most likely have a problem with that, because they have been brainwashed very hard...they don't see (or don't think about) the reality you have seen or experienced, they have not spent hours educating themselves about this subject. All they know is that the universe is patriarchal and hates women, so they blindly hate on men and preemptively defend women, and if you disagree with too many things you become a pariah.

Eh, one of the reasons people react this way is due to past experience. The dudes they have dealt with who say "men's rights" have just been misogynists, only pretending to care about men's advocacy for the sake of wanting to uphold traditional gender roles. The dudes who hate "wokeness" are referring to anything progressive, and often anything they don't like.

Just use different terms - for instance, I happily use the term "wokescolding" for that behaviour wherein someone is just using progressive values to bully someone. That isn't progressive, it's just being a cunt.

End of the day, the men's advocacy well has been poisoned by right wing chuds, not by leftists or feminists - if someone tells me they are a conservative, I'll assume they are a climate denier based on my experience of their political stance. They are welcome to disabuse me of that notion, but it's a fair assumption.

Honestly, the same is true of some of the language you've used above - if someone tells me they are worried about wokeness, I usually associate this concern with, like, "how dare you put black people in my Lord of the Rings" style of outrage. Which is just such an insipid problem to be worried about.

Instead of Men's rights, I say positive masculinity and advocacy, and nobody has a problem, because they understand what I mean.

Well said! This may be an unpopular take, but I think we need to align with liberal feminists. The stated goal of feminism is equality. I think we should hold them to that, and I observe that most true feminists agree that in several quantifiable, real ways, men and boys are lagging and would benefit from social interventions to bring about equality.

Well a lot of these people aren't "liberal" or actually left-wing, they are just brainwashed into identity politics. Most Gen-Z have 0 understanding of actual politics and focus too much on identity, ergo how obsessed young people are with gender. Then again I have gender dysphoria so I get it to a certain extent, but that's because I spent too much time in here and I finally understand that so many issues in my life originate from what I was assigned at birth. This stigma is just a result of what gen-z, the morons that rule the internet, believe in. And that is identity-politics, not actual politics.

The left-wing have went far left 6 years ago. Their idea of progress is literally backward. I think it's much better to lean left without being left-wing like some people on reddit.
