I mean, the subs name is left wing male advocates. So I'm part of the left. And I feel like once you are a part of the left you routinely start running into humor being directed towards the majority - which I generally tend to look/act like.

Ever since I got turned on to men's issues (which, ironically, was due to an overbearing radical feminist), I've been more and more frustrated with the expectations from others that I be self-deprecating about my gender. I mean, it's not much to deal with the occasional "ah, men, amirite?" comment every once in a while when it's a joke. But I'm more pressured recently to try to distance myself from white maleness because it's a "bad" thing from the people that ruined it.

Idk, I'm just frustrated. I get that historically a lot of horrible people are white males. I just wish I didn't feel pressured to engage in farcicle representations of my gender and ethnicity so I can prove I'm "one of the good ones".

In the end I think it all boils down to identity politics. For some reason we have a really difficult time saying "the problem is racist people" and have to define a bad group by literally anything other than their actions or beliefs...
