If men and women are essentially equal then it basically implies that women are just as abusive and everything as men are.

One thing you'll see from wokes is this insistence that women are just as good as men when it comes to positive qualities, but they are not as bad as men when it comes to negative qualities.

Which is where all this "the world would be better with women in charge" stuff comes from.

Which obviously doesn't make sense.

Of course it is the case the women do rape and abuse people at similar rates as men, but that's beside the point.

The statistics are heavily skewed. And I mean HEAVILY. Male rape is taken way less seriously and in some cases laughed at. Young boys are being raped by family/friends/etc but because the damage/trauma isn't as visible as that of women, it usually goes unnoticed. I know many friends who claim to have "had sex" with older women from ages 13 upwards. Unfortunately, many of them don't even see it as rape and so do many men around the world. Male rape is severely underreported.

So basically whatever rape statistics you see that paints male rape as infrequent, should be taken with a pinch of salt.

P.S: PROTECT THE LITTLE BOYS AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE OKAY!

The numbers are almost equal so the definition of rape was made gendered to fit the narrative that only men can rape women. For men, they include it in sexual assault.

The simple answer to your question is simply that it's down to the way the statistics are gathered and presented. In many places only men can commit legal rape....... So if you look at the stats in those countries, 100% of rapists will be men. That doesn't mean women aren't committing the same offences in exactly the same way - it just means it's not illegal for them too.

It's kind of like me saying 'nobody was convicted of breathing oxygen last year, therefore nobody breaths oxygen'. We all know it's a bullshit conclusion based around a statistic that may, in itself, be true but is seriously flawed and misrepresentation of the truth. The truth is nobody was convicted of breathing oxygen last year because its not an offence to do so...... Of course we all breath oxygen! Similarly claiming men make up a massive majority of rapists may well be true but a large part of that is because women are not held to the same standards as men are on this front.

Why women would rape (or at least try) less than men?

The biggest reason is shape of genetalia. Rapists with innie genetalia typically envelope their victims. Only penetration of the victim by the perpetrator is counted as rape in rape statistics. Rapists with outie genetalia are more likely to penetrate their victims.

I believe the next biggest reasons are body size/strength, differences in prevalence of cluster B personality disorders, and support services available to child sexual assault victims by sex.

Forcing to penetrate is not considered to be rape. By the terms of "Yes means Yes" and "No means No" forcing someone to have sex is rape, but only if this someone is woman.

Still after taking this into account men are raping more often. Why? Probably it is culture, more physical force, more men at social bottom (criminals).

Another cause is typically women can get consensual sex easier, because supply and demand is kind of skewed.

Physically it is easier for a man to rape a woman than vice versa. Almost all reported rapes are due to intoxication, the stereotypical man forcing himself onto a petrified, conscious woman does happen but is not all that common. Woman are physically weaker than men. Black-out drunk men also may not be able to get erect. Physically it is pretty difficult to nearly impossible for women to rape a blacked out man. If women were as physically strong as men and if blacked out men were able to get erect at a woman's will, I think a lot of the gaps for not just violent crime but also rape will decrease drastically

I'm not sure why, but Women's aggression tends to be less physical in nature and more social/relational. Rape is a pretty physical act that requires some force to enact and historically, men have had the physical force to overwhelm women more often than men.

More recently, with the inclusion of terms like made-to-penetrate being considered rape, the numbers are a lot more equalized, though there are still more female victims of men than male victims of women. In the context of prisons:

Among adults who reported sexual contact with prison staff, including some contact that prisoners call “willing” but that is often coercive and always illegal, 80 percent reported only female perpetrators. Among juveniles, the same figure is 89.3 percent. Queer men and women were two to three times more likely to report abuse. “The disproportionate abuse by female staff members does not occur because women are more often staffing facilities,” the authors write. “Men outnumber women by a ratio of three to one in positions requiring direct contact with inmates.”

In the context of colleges:

As well, “a 2014 study of 284 men and boys in college and high school found that 43 percent reported being sexually coerced, with the majority of coercive incidents resulting in unwanted sexual intercourse. Of them, 95 percent reported only female perpetrators. Its also likely that sexual victimization by women is underreported because many men simply believe that women's can't hurt them because of past childhood abuse:

Male victims may experience pressure to interpret sexual victimization by women in a way more consistent with masculinity ideals, such as the idea that men should relish any available opportunity for sex. sexual victimization might be reframed as a form of sexual initiation or a rite of passage, to make it seem benign. In some cases, male victims are portrayed as responsible for the abuse. Particularly as male victims move from childhood to adolescence, they are ascribed more blame for encounters with adult women.

And according to the paper, when female abusers are reported, they are less likely to be investigated, arrested, or punished compared to male perpetrators, who are regarded as more harmful.

So it does happen, with pretty comparable prevalence, but many men and women (and victims) alike refuse to acknowledge that it exists.

The causes of rape, in general, are pretty difficult to pin down and there is large disagreement around its causes too. Some, admittedly more activist-oriented scholars, believe that it is done for power and violence reasons, others, particularly evolutionary biologists suggest that its done because its an adaptation and a result of Darwinian Selection (however this view is widely criticized).

Most are of the opinion that rape is nearly exclusively focused on power and violence and the urge to control and dominate. There is not really much evidence to show that it is specifically done for misogynistic reasons (hostility towards women) and the evidence that exists is primarily anecdotal. (source)

So to answer your questions, rape is likely done for dominance reason and historically we have associated the desire for dominance with men and not with women and have ignored the prevalence of the female sexual aggressor. Women likely rape and sexually assault men more than we think, but we don't know if it is as common as it is with men because there is not enough data, research and studies on the female abuser.

Women are going to rape less than men because they are obviously gonna have a harder time trying to rape a man than a man can rape a woman.
Virgin men are seen as weak and pathetic so they sometimes become rapists. Virgin women are far less so seen as that.

These are just unsourced claims, do not take them too seriously.
