I just started out here, and have started the required reading and this afternoon after work I am going to look at 2 gyms to start lifting. My first post was on saturday: First few days of MRP.

Good news is I am still keeping frame, and over the weekend I have read a lot of posts etc.

Now my question that needs clearing up, please don't ban me or flame me for asking, but how does a mid-life crises compare to taking the Redpill? I feel it is not exactly the same thing but there are some elements in common with a midlife-crises.

About three years ago I started doing things for myself that I had neglected over the years. I took up some old hobbies that I enjoyed as a youngster (I am 43 now). Started hanging out more often with buddies, bought a car that had only two doors ( I have young kids aged 6 and 9 so this was met with a whole lot of sceptisism) and of course....a Harley. Even had a whirlwind romance with a married woman.

My thinking was that all these years I lived frugally to pay of mortages, buy extra rental properties build a nest egg. Now I am looking at a possible divorce and the only person benefitting from my efforts will be my wife. So now I am spending some of my savings on myself.

Now I am being labeled as going through a midlife crises. Not just my wife but a few other people as well. Especially when they see the Harley. The car not so much as it is still big enough for everyone (Mitsubishi Pajero SWB).

Your thoughts?
