I‘m pretty traditional, but today are different times. If I had to pay for every meal, I‘d be broke or stop dating. I think it‘s not fair either. Some woman just go on dates for free meals, I won‘t be the one supporting that shi.

30 years ago I made a vow that I would forsake all others, love and cherish, protect and provide for my woman. She, in turn, made a vow that she would forsake all others, respect and honor me, love and care for me, and follow me leadership until death do us part.

We have striven to honor those vows for 30 years and it’s worked out pretty good so far.

Having said that, there is no way in hell, I’d date these modern, trashy, entitled females all tatt’d up and been ran through more times than a car wash.

I protect my wife and pay the bills and don’t expect her to work. This is how it worked for my mum n dad, my granddad and grandmother and probably so on for hundreds and hundreds of years. I don’t call out other people for not doing it this way, but it’s what I want, what my wife wants and what I believe to be most effective given it has always worked.

“Insecure” is not a binary, yes/no question. There’s always going to be a degree of insecurity in a person, because life is insecure. The totally “secure” man has to be blind to what’s happening in this world today, ignorant of trends and headlines.

I’m also not convinced that “traditional” or “50-50” are the only two options, either. Those are essentially economic options, where “traditional” means that the man can afford to pay for everything and have a wife who stays at home with the kids. That option has become less available in modern economies that have been re-balanced to account for the vastly increased number of women in the workplace. In major cities you can no longer buy a home on a single income. A man’s attitude has no bearing on this situation.

So “traditional” is a luxury only available to the relatively rich men these days, men with high incomes or who benefit from inheritance etc. Would you say that Donald Trump is “secure” or “insecure” as a man? He was “traditional” and very secure financially at least until recently - maybe “traditional” because he was rich - but is his life something to aspire to?

Ideologues, in general, are cringe. Some want to control people, others are fully convinced they are right and genuinely want to help. Some are a mix of those two.

The result is the same either way. Hyper-traditionalists are just the other side of the same rotten coin as rad fems. At the end of the day, everyone would suffer if they got their way. And thankfully, they are much less common than you'd think. As sad as it is, loud and stupid gets more attention than polite and correct.

Some are, some aren't. They can fullfill their desire to be protectors and providers if they find the right person (unlikely these days) which fullfills their sense of purpose and bolsters their self-worth.

Trad financially is different to trad mindset and being aware of female nature.

For example I personally have a trad mindset and believe in traditional masculine traits but I won’t pay 100% in 2024 when we have financial equality.

So-called 'trad' men only exist in the modern world and are a reaction to the endemic problems of our Western societies. Being traditional, fundamentally, means nothing. What tradition does one adopt? Tradition is a crystallisation of certain principles over time and presupposes the illusion that things can remain the same and not die. These so-called traditional people feel aversion towards people who adapt to modernity because they believe themselves to be heirs of a kind of aristocracy whose goal is to resist modernity.

Furthermore, I would like to point out that this category of people is often obsessed with concepts of the union of man and woman such as marriage and sexual reproduction, phenomena that only bind man to conditions that put him at a serious disadvantage in many ways; to submit to these narratives by virtue of a chimera such as traditionalism is to be enslaved, not to be free and autonomous.

My position is that to be ruled by tradition is to be a slave to spiritual chimeras. And adopting extremist views will only lower the quality of our lives, as it will lead us to feel hatred and aversion for those who think differently.

As the Buddha taught more than 2500 years ago, the middle way is probably the healthiest choice.

I think they're "insecure" in the sense that they try to prove themselves to something greater than themselves, they renounce individualism. There's nothing wrong with that however, tradcons are honest about their intentions, whereas male feminists will exploit those around them for their ego-fulfillment.

It's instinctual. Plain and simple.

As a woman I feel it's instinctual to take care of my OWN home and feel very critical about "women" who want to use maids for their home (while they're not even working!). A home is the territory of one woman. I think it's the same optic for those "manly" man providers. My brother feels icky when his wife offers him a BIRTHDAY PRESENT. Some men are more manly and proud than others.

There is a degree of insecurity that men do have naturally.
It's what pushes us along partially.

The 50/50 thing doesn't seem like it started because of money but rather as a response to bad female behavior that a lot of men have taken notice of.

You use the word "criticize," but I don't feel that's accurate.

When I hear or read about a relationship failing, and in the story I hear 50/50"along with a long list of everything they go well out of their way to do for her; I immediately know the problem and try to explain.

Women look for safety and security from a man, and that paramount to them being happy for the long-term in any romantic relationship. This has been the case since the beginning of time.

The mistake that gets made is thinking that splitting everything down the middle; chores, bills, vacations, etc., is fair and what she wants. That's rarely the case. She doesn't want someone she can order around and get to do her bidding. It's weak, and you become predictable.

There comes a point where she's taking on something she feels is masculine and has to move outside of who she is. She's perfectly capable of doing it and can accomplish it with ease, but deep down resentment starts to grow because it's something you should be handling.

Women leave out of the blue because they've grown weary of having to carry that, and they figure that if they're going to have to do that anyway, they may as well, just do it alone.

Years of biology and evolution have set our roles.

We provide: it started as hunting, building shelter, and warmth. Today, it's working and bringing in an income.

We protect: it started as protection from wild animals and other tribes, and it's still the same. It's also about protecting her emotionally. An emotionally insecure woman isn't going to stay, and she'll never open up to you fully.

Now, I know you're readying your fingers for a sharp retort, telling me how incorrect I am; but I'm not. I'm not talking about;

I'm man. You woman. Do as I say!

I'm talking about staying in tune with what makes her open up to you and simply taking care of things that need to be handled.

My only proof of this is anecdotal, vut doesn't negate the fact that there's not a single woman I've dated in the last 20 years that I couldn't call and take to dinner (if she's single), and to bed, because I followed a few simple guidelines on the weight I was supposed to carry.

There are, of course, exceptions to every rule. Masculine women and masculine men have similar polarity, and they'll repel like 2 similar poles on a magnet, regardless of effort.

Being traditional in a very untraditional environment makes no sense to me.

Look at all these women on TikTok and social media. Basically demanding all of the privileges and entitlements that traditional housewives received in the past while not providing any of the value housewives gave in return.

Great question. Except there are traditional men who are not toxic who have been the cause of innovations that make all of our lives easier. It’s not about tradition , it’s about the toxicity of individuals and where they are on their journey of growth. 50-50 is a false concept that is designed to collapse structures. Social structure has always been 100-0. There’s a leader and there are all those who serve his cause. Then his cause becomes their cause and the dynamics shift for each individual. Coule be 100-80 , 100-10 , 100-20 , and so on. No different from sales. There’s the manufacture , and all the hierarchy that branches out from that , each have a portion , but the manufacture is always 100. The man is the manufacture in marriage. The woman can become 100-90 or something like that but I don’t think a woman can ever become 100% into the cause of her husband. Only because she reserves some for her own life and her kids. There no need to be equal. We all have our calling and everyone doesn’t need to be in charge. The chances a man will join the cause of a woman where she is 100 and he aims to become 100 is low. I think it would require the man have not much his own ambition. The woman would also have to care for the man financially because ideally she should always be ahead of him. And humans usually take care of who is subservient to them. So if you want a man child , by all means. I don’t think you do.

Personally, I think yes. Most of the time, guys who want to be seen as the "leaders of their households" and be the sole provider for their "tradwives" tend to be very insecure. It's not enough that their lifestyle works for them - it has to be perceived by others as the correct way to live. Also I kind of feel like this mindset is outdated even if only based on the modern economy. Who can afford to feed a family on a single income these days? Not the average joe, that's for sure.

I think people who are loud about any 'correct' lifestyle are often just pretty insecure. I'm in a more traditional relationship where I'm the breadwinner and my girlfriend takes care of the home, but I don't feel the need to evangelize about that lifestyle or think that it's 'better' than 50/50 or even the opposite. My mom was the breadwinner of the family and my dad did more of the caretaking of me and my brother and I had a great childhood.

I'm also a vegetarian and I think it weirdly relates. People who evangelize for that lifestyle are usually new to it and trying to convince themselves that it's the right thing more than the person they're talking to. Those of us who are comfortable in it ourselves don't go out of our way to shame people who make different choices normally.

In both cases -- people in traditional relationships and vegetarians, I think it's really easy as an outsider to see the loud insecure people and believe that's the whole group. But I think what the insecurity is related to is the loudness, not the lifestyle choice itself if that makes sense.

They are stuck in the stone age, the laws are different now, and women are able to provide for themselves without the help of a man. Even if we have “traditional” men and women nowadays, the fact of the matter is that the world has changed for better or for worse and we must accommodate for these changes. Just like women will have to realize that with these changes they will probably have to date-down (at least from a monetary perspective). Due to the resource allocation on available jobs.
