Yep. It’s an irrational statement.

It’s the same with feminists claiming that coming down on false rape accusers hurts real victims. It makes no sense. Coming down on false accusations only hurts false accusers, not legitimate reports.

In fact, the more we can prevent false accusations, the more credible and the more serious real accusations will be taken.

Acknowledging male victims also increased the number of victims helped.

Feminists have had a monopoly on Domestic Violence 'Violence against women' and the monies that came with it. Now that the time is ripe for them to show how "feminism is for men, too" by actually standing with male victims of DV, all the career feminists backpedal and throw up smoke screens to try and protect their livelihoods, all at the cost of 'real victims'.

I heard a good point that someone else brought up, this is good for any and all DV victims as it paints light on the degree of gaslighting and projection that abusers commit against the victim. The entire sexist painting of DV was absurd and has resulted in fraudulent, inaccurate and lessened research into the issue. While I understand and support our focus on Men's rights, (it's in our name lol) It's important that breakdown of the absurdity of bigotry happen and be addressed. The continued isolation of humans as if somehow each category is its own species. This is not Men vs Women, this is Humans vs Bigotry.

No but look at how much Depp has had to spend. And it's not even about the DV, it's about her slandering him. So as far as male DV is concerned it's not helpful. All it shows is if you are going to go after a woman you better have something other than the DV claims AND you best have so much money to blow on legal fees and up to two years of your life available. Most of us don't have those luxuries so... It's helpful for those victims of slander and defamation, but not abuse

What really gets me is that there aren't a lot more people pointing out how that sentiment is nothing but blatant misandry. The complete and utter suppression of male victims (of DV as well as false accusations) in the name of women? Who have the funding, and the safety nets, and the voice, and the support?

The ones who have the entire world behind their backs? To the point of it being considered a good thing, when males are denied due process?

I'd love for someone to explain to me how it's possible for these types of comments to be as positively received as they are. What's the part they don't see? Where's the disconnect?

It is hurting domestic violence, because it’s her word against his, and it causes a lot of skepticism whenever either gender steps up. This spills over to other domestic violence cases and you have law enforcement and regular citizens who start questioning intimate partner abuse. This has become a spectacle and definitely a regression for domestic violence advocates.

I think what they mean is they’re worried that so much publicizing of these false allegations might make police officers and prosecutors disbelieve real victims. It might put the idea in the back of their minds that women lie a lot about that and they won’t investigate as thoroughly.
