Such prejudice some women make... It's ridiculous.

It's smart to be prepared for an attack just in case. But to go and say that every man is a potential rapist... that's a very sick mindset!

When I walk around at night by myself, I am fraid, but I am prepared for an assault, just in case. But I don't go spewing out bullshit like this. This is pure bullshit.

The whole "women can't walk home alone at night" that you often hear is one that really annoys me. I know countless more men that have been attacked walking home alone at night than I do women.

The fact of the matter is that walking alone at night is more dangerous than walking alone during the day.

I feel like the phrase "you do you" needs to be ingrained in our society and people need to worry less about what-if scenarios. I think my camp counselor said it best when us little brats were berating him with what-if scenarios and he countered "what if the sun explodes and we all die?" Just keep yourself under control, hope everybody else follows suit, and if anybody doesn't they're dealt with accordingly by the law.

I think four things when women do this:

If it's fair to say every man may as well be a rapist, then it's equally fair to say every woman is a gold digger.
The people who are most afraid to walk alone at night (including men and women) are the ones who have done the least amount of physical labor in their lives. Women wouldn't be so frail and helpless if men didn't do all their work for them their entire lives.
If men were really so evil, then every woman would be running out of every building screaming. Or they'd never leave their homes. But the women who post shit like this aren't shut-ins. During they day, they go about their business calmly showing off their bodies hoping for male attention. I'm not saying women are "asking for it." I'm just saying, "Don't act like you live in constant fear of men when you spend half your life begging for their attention and getting showered with free gifts."
Men don't hurt people. Broken people hurt people. There's no way hating/blaming/shaming all men could possibly lead to healing broken people. All it could ever possibly accomplish is hurting good people.

Every time I encounter one of these instances of manshaming, I struggle to refute it. I’m getting tired of that. I feel like the only action that will sustainably serve the interests of self-preservation is to walk away from the female gender.

I’m married, and I have many female friends and relatives whom I care for very much. At this point, though, I’m well on my way to seeing good relations between men and women as a lost cause.

Edit: As long as you see me as uniquely, inherently and permanently capable of a certain kind of harm, and as long as that kind of harm is the only kind of harm that matters to you, then there can be no genuinely mutual relationship between us. I would never be anything to you but a morally inferior creature to whom you would have to condescend.

At first, that would make you look generous, gracious and selfless or even brave to your friends. Eventually, though, you would grow tired of expending so much energy on me, and your resentment would start to break through.

I’ve been there and done that many times over already. I want no further part of it, thank you very much.

I hate how people say safety advice is victim blaming. The police can tell you to lock your doors to avoid being robbed but that's never referred to as victim blaming. It's no different. Certain behavior makes you more likely to be the victim of a crime. It sucks but that's just how the world works.

I tought women's self defense classes for a number of years. One of the biggest problems we had might be called something like "threat assessment", meaning women often can't distinguish between threats and non threats.

This problem manifested itself in a few ways. Some of these attractive women would have an almost borderline paranoia of everyone and every situation. The concept of "high risk" or "low risk" situations are hard for them to grasp. So they walk around in sheer terror thinking there is a rapist hiding in every corner, and 120 pound white collar Ted from accounting is an opportunist waiting for her to turn her back.

Both women and men need to practice situational awareness, meaning having a more passive feel for the environment and conditions around you without going so overboard that everybody is a bad guy, or the other extreme where you walk around in a daze. We need a happy medium between the two extremes.

I hate feminism but when I walk down the street I'm a bit more aware of the 6 foot guy than I am the 5 foot 4 girl. What she said imo was fine until she said men are the problem. Men can't help being larger and thus more capable of of causing you physical harm. A very small minority of men are a problem in this regard.

We should also consider urging women not to only pursue the top 20% of men leaving most of the rest working ridiculously hard to get some female attention only to be tossed aside when one of these top end men come along.
