Nice for equality of justice, but I have a serious problem with the entire concept of sexual predator registration, regardless of whether its applied to men/women equally. It is far too broad of a status and can group people who take a late night piss in a park ... with monsters that violently raped multiple people. I am not comfortable with that kind of a status being flung around so recklessly.

Out of curiosity I did some digging on the story.

The woman seems to be exhibiting at least some symptoms of dementia. She made fake emergency calls regularly and in this particular incident, was confused and had no recollection of calling paramedics at all.

Obviously what she did was wrong, but I really urge caution on passing judgment. She is undergoing additional psychiatric testing to determine if the registry is appropriate for her. When George Bush Sr. was accused of sexual misconduct, people recognized that he was suffering from dementia and most cut him a break.

Although this is a good post, the title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable. Moreover, it means that your post will fail to reach some readers because they won't know what it's about.

So please don't do it in future. Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

When making a title, it's best to assume the reader doesn't know what you're talking about - but don't go overboard with every detail. Then check if there are any words you can cut out without losing any important information.

68 years old? It could just be a case of dementia. Anybody who worked in a nursing home will have much worse to tell than someone simply grabbing their crotch... I'm not really sure i would count that as justice, then...

Is registration usually a lifetime sentence?
Does registration exist anywhere for those who have completed their sentence for murder, manslaughter, kidnapping, or aggravated assault?
If a discrepancy, why?

I'm wondering (not really we know it's because she's a woman) why she didn't get a custodial sentence. Not only did she commit sexual assault, but she violated a court order not to place hoax calls to 999. I don't by the she has memory issues. Not remembering is not the same thing as not knowing that it's wrong.

Sure, it's "equal" but it would have been nice to have it be "equal" in a more reasonable manner. This seems a tad draconian.

So on one hand, this is "good" in that it'll help people realize that maybe these punishment's are disproportionate since it's happening to a woman instead of a man, but it's still bad that it has to happen in the first place to anyone.

One instance of being gross and grabby shouldn't land someone on a permanent "do not employ" list regardless of their gender (community service and a fine seems more appropriate), however if incidents like this can be translated into political will to make the laws more reasonable they may be a necessary evil.
