Yes but if you think about it men are also less likely to be in their child's life due to men having higher rates of death, less likely to be awarded custody or just fleeing family life. As well as spending less time in general with their children since many men work longer hours than women.

It's no wonder death and abuse are more common around mothers, kids are around their mothers more.

As a child I was abuses by both my parents but my father was the bread winner and mum stayed home studying for university meaning I got abused by her way more often purely since I was around her more.

It's a shame people don't talk about this enough, women are just as capable of being shitty parents as men and we need to do something about this.

Yeah in animals this is called infanticide. In nature the old males kids often get killed by the mother if it has a new partner. Evolutionarily it's to protect the new genes from the new male over the old genes from the old male. Of course this means there's an advantage to the males to stick around helping the female which is why this behavior makes sense for the female despite the dead kids genes being 50% hers.

In humans when there's a non-related male in the household instead of the biological father, the chances of child abuse rise by about 100 fold. You read that right. 100 times more likely to get child abuse when the mother takes up with a new man. Now that doesn't mean the abuse is by the mother or by the mother only, but it's fair to say it's tolerated by or encouraged by the mother, even if it's purely by the new male.

Usually feminists twist the data to present it as men being abusive in these cases. But overall it's a situation that causes it not individuals. Still it's true that it only happens for single mothers not single dads.

Not sure why it would be more likely with boys than girls. That's not true in nature. Perhaps it's feminist propaganda and hate making it easier for women to kill male children.

But that doesn't really take into account the fact that if only one parent is a perpetrator then it's probably a bit more likely to be happening in a single parent household.

85% of single parent households are women.

Basically, 70% of women doing X to their child when the father doesn't do X to their child is not an indication that women are more likely to do X. It's just because there are so many single moms.

You'd probably get the exact same percentage if you asked how many mothers buy icecream for their child in august on their own, vs how many fathers buy icecream for their child in august.

The hierarchy of love states that "men love women, women love children and children love puppies". It's just a maxim but pretty explicative of how nature intended when it comes to love.

How would you explain this statistic in combination with the fact that there are way more mothers that are the sole caregiver of children? Of course dad’s can’t kill/abuse kids if they aren’t even there. Because right now that makes this statistic ‘unfair’ towards mothers.

Not sure how this guy got the numbers. I checked out the report from 2006 which was 57.9% women and 42.1% men.

In 2020 it was 52% women and 47.1% (missing % is unnkown gender)

There is evidence women took and still do take care more of children and household duties. And while this changes it seems the number of perpetrator balance out.

Since it is mainly care takers that are perpetrator it makes sense that women, who in the past were the main care takers, have had higher numbers.
