So we're going over feminism and the issue they address. Of course the wage gap comes up as 77 cents to every dollar a man makes and I told her how the study cited didn't take into account different job choices and that it's closer to 95 cents to every dollar a man makes.

My fellow classmates luaghed and even went to go as far as saying, "you're funny!" The teacher then took a dramatic pause to "think of a response" (to her credit she gave a fair and well worded response that was similar to my opinion on the matter, how women and men need to stop viewing certain jobs as meant for certain genders).

Somehow she didn't know what mother jones was (and she's radically liberal) and said how it was just one study. I beieve it was mother jones that gave the 77 to 1 dollar study and it has been corrected multiple times. Yet the teacher didn't bother to do a simple google search which would have linked to the MULTIPLE studies that support my position. Goes to show the "intellectual space" that college has become.

Anyone have a similar experience?

Edit: Grammar.
