I am socially liberal (as opposed to authoritarian), economically centre left in the US, centre right in Europe. I am generally a traditional liberal.

I was raised in liberal.to progressive circles, progressive school system, my mom a ardent feminist.

Before the mra I never really encountered truly different points of.view. I met the odd pro life person but they always tried to be civil about it.

I remember reading the mens rights subreddit way back when, and i found myself agreeing with lots of points being made while also suffering woke withdrawal syndrome.

My super progressive uni threw it over the top with a very public false accusation of a aquaintence of mine who was with me at the time of the alleged rape. That and a all woman jobs fair for stem.

Im then went through a very hard period of realising that there are no good sides and bad sides and that both sides have Thier narratives. I started realising that data doesn't really back alot of stuff up and that government and corporations are full of incompetent and or malcious people.

I am still deprogramming to this day:

Killed social media last year (except Reddit and linked in) as this is a even more efficient tool.than school to program you.
realised that good intentions tend to hide ulterior motives (mostly for government)
that i.was programmed to feel.guilty for achieving anything because there was a minority or womann out there who was being "oppressed" by me doing well and I apparently "shouldn't" be patting myself on the back

-that people can easily "retrain" and that different outcomes in jobs comes from access to education. (This is still somewhat true, it just isn't the only factor)

wokeness as a whole. It's pretty much Engles and Marx
having low expectations for minorities and women (still need to listen and adjust to some unique struggles they can experience, but goddamit a woman can ask for raise just as well as a man)
relgion being the root of all evil. I am still an atheist, but some of my expiremces as an adult have lead me to learn some truths the hard way. while the Bible (raised Christian) could have been helpful. I'm now trying to find a way to see if I can unpick the supernatural and crazy bits from the moral stories. I expect it to take a while.
last but not least, don't trust career establishment figures, trust them as much as you need to in order to live, but no more.

Hopefully you can find something relevant in here in your own journey. Maybe you have other conclusions. None the less, wish you luck.

That is the same experience I had. Pretty much and when I talk with people about men’s issues and they know me as liberal they still think I must be going crazy. Most men listen or wonder but most of them come around. With women I never know and I’ve learned to not bring it up. Either way I’m glad another liberal found his way down here.

Feminism is ANTI-liberal and ANTI-progressive. Feminists are for dismantling due process and instead simply "believing women". The doctrine of "innocent until proven guilty" is out the door with them. They've attempted to take away any way to defend a man accused of sexual assault. They've tried to not allow him access to emails that would prove his innocence. Their rape shield laws protect an accuser from being named in the press, but they don't protect the accused. Thus the mere accusation of rape can be made with impunity while destroying a man's reputation even if he's totally innocent. This is un-democratic. It's against everything that progressive ideals stand for. It's authoritarian.

Yes. My reason for advocating for men is because I see the current situation as unjust.

Advocating for men's rights is progressive, in the sense that we are looking to move from the status quo and make progress.

I've been making noise about boys and men since the nineties but have a history in labour/union politics dating back to the sixties. I was a feminist until the nineties also. To this day my womens' libber aunts still remind me of how radical - Solanas level - I was in the seventies.

Still a moderate socialist if I need to apply a label.

As the MRM grows in strength and popularity, and it’s talking points more common, you can expect feminism to try to whitewash its history as it always does. Eventually feminists will claim they always supported MRAs instead of slandering and suppressing them.

Is there a Men Democrats group? I am frustrated with Democrats refusal to admit that men and boys as a group can have any issues at all. However, they are better on environmental and some other issues.

My egalitarian principles have lead to me being MRA, although I'm also anti-capitalist. I do, however, have my own ideas on social liberalism and would say I think for myself - I do not consider the 3+ gender identity legitimate, do think adoption is best between heterosexuals, am strongly anti-islam, while I generally support the feminist causes put in relation to the discrimination men face when discussed - equal pay, parenthood leave, employment protections for mothers.

I am kind of in the centere, i agree in a lot of things with the right, but the same time i agree in a bunch of things with the left. I think there is always a middle golden road.

I'm pretty left wing. I'm British but I loved Corbyn and I really liked Bernie and wanted him to win. I'm relatively socialist wanting more employee and economic protection to the poorest. I'm pretty left wing economically.

However, in terms of identity politics I'm practically extremely right wing (According to feminists). I believe feminism is needed but needs/should change. Men are pretty badly disadvantaged in society and its constantly ignored. I think everyone should be treated fairly, minorities, men, women, trans, everyone.

I am always pretty critical and slow to form an opinion on alot of these protests and mobs coming up. When black lives matters showed up I waited and thought about stuff before deciding whether I agree with the movement (I do agree with it) but I have criticisms with it.

Yes, I am liberal in almost every sense. I support social programs like education and universal health care, I think the rich need to be paying way more in taxes, I favor strict gun control, and I am a huge advocate of protecting the environment. I don't think that being an MRA should become a political matter.

Simple!... Understand the 'FACT' that feminism is a movement for woman's rights. It never fought, nor it will fights for men's rights.
So whatever they speak about men's issues is pathetic lies and gaslighting.

I respect them for fighting for women's rights. But the moment they try to suggest how to solve men's issues, I get up nd leave. Because feminists will never address men's issues. The only thing they'll suggest is 'get rid of your toxic masculinity' and 'patriarchy hurts men too'.

So, don't believe in those lies. Find your own way of fighting for men's rights issues.

From what I gather this is where a lot of people come from. The reasons that make me want to advocate for men's rights are the same as the ones that make me want to advocate for gay rights and legal abortions in Poland (where I lived 8 years).

I'd say the problem is that a lot of people react to social issues like football fans. It's an irrational "my team vs your team", not an objective concern about social issues. And that's where that "division" comes from. One of such examples is when you bring up the fact that feminist programs have resulted in less than 1% of domestic violence funds being for men and people's first reaction is "why are you blaming feminism?!" rather than "why do men get less than 1%?!"

One thing is theory and another practice.Regardless of your left wing ideals you need to realize that the practical real left wing today is completley corrupted and cancerous and you shouldnt support it.
I was on the left until i realize how things are and therefore the rational thing to do is moving to the right.

And I still can't get anybody to tell me what's so different between left and right... I used to think leftists were extremists, analogue to your experience but in this case feminists made me look at the left with suspicion.

In the end of the day, extremists are extremists, but if we take off the extremists from both sides I struggle to see the actual difference between left and right, today the difference people point out seem to be regarding their extremists, never anything concrete about actual politics.

I wasn't raised either left-wing or right-wing, and also not feminist. I just grew up and found I value both feminism and the MRA movement, so I am both.

Yep I had a very similar experience. I'm a Progressive Libertarian Socialist. I started out fully supporting feminism to the point where I carried a lot of self hatred. Eventually I realized that I had been trapped in a 6 year relationship with a very abusive Feminist who made me think I deserved to be abused because I was a man, I started to look at things through a new lens. I came to the conclusion that neither men nor women are to blame for gender issues but rather the concept of gender roles itself is inherently toxic. Additionally gender equality will never be achieved as long as dating inequality/gender roles exist.

I'm a moderate progressive/liberitarian and an MRA. I used to support feminism too when I was younger because it was claimed that it stands for equality, will end discrimination towards women and reduce the abuses they suffer. After realizing that it's not about equality at all, I quit my support, joined egalitarianism, MRA and anti-feminism.

I met zero persons from the far right or far left so far in my last 4 months of intensive activity on mra social media, nor did I read comments that express the values of the radical right or left.

I only met moderate left, moderate right and centrist people and read such ideas so far. MRA used to consist almost only out of conservatives and traditionalists in the XX century. This view is not valid anymore and obsolet since many years. Since several years a huge part of MRAs are progressists/liberitarians. This might be explained due to the vast majority of current members being new ones that have joined in recent years. MRA has been growing steadily in new members since 2010 and skyrocketed since 2017.

In addition, MRA ideas and demands are progressive and liberitarian since they represent a change and something new (fight discrimination, abuses, biases and gender hate boys and men suffer from) and can therefore not be traditionalist (doing something again and again) or conservative (to maintain the state of something).

However, every conservative MRA is just as welcome for me and I appreciate every support, regardless of the place in the ideological spectrum. I have friends from almost every political stance.

Someones giving the red pill a little licky licky. Nothing wrong with that just avoid the actual "red pill" shit. They'll have you dumping all your money on clothes, supplements and gym memberships while giving up anything that makes you unique. Then theyll brainwash you into thinking women are beasts and that you should control them via manipulation.
