Homie I cry alone watching movies or shows. I cry when I make food that comes out perfect. I cry when the perfect song comes on the radio where I can rolls the windows down. I cry when I see all the other comments here. There's no shame in crying. Women just don't want to see it. Stay strong, cry when you need to.

I can't even cry anymore. At most, a few tears come out, but I don't sob or completely break down. And it's not because I'm strong or stoic—it's because I feel so full of pain, anger, and resentment that I don't even know how to let it out anymore

At this point I only cry during movies or shows and it's when I'm alone. Ive learned showing too much emotion is not a good thing. It's my emotional release at this point and I've made my peace with it.

When my mother died of cancer in 2014, I was 18. My father and grandfather wouldn't stop sobbing and crying. At that moment, I had to step up and be the emotional pillar of the family, and handle everything administrative. I couldn't allow myself to cry because I had to be the most responsible human in the room. To this day I haven't cried, or done drugs, it's like I have wired myself to be as stoic as possible. I don't think it's good or bad since I'm mostly by myself. So, I don't see what's good in crying on your own or with other people. I bottle it all up and deal with it later in one of my insomniac episodes.

It’s been roughly once in ten years that I’ve cried. I’m a married man in my 40s, we have two kids. Except, that’s in real life. I also cry every single time I see a movie and there’s a sad scene. I cried at Zootopia, for example.

I had not cried for years. I grew up crying a lot... very tense relations with my parents.

I ended up in a very abusive marriage, that ended horribly (false accusations, partial parental alienation etc.). I did not cry. Became suicidal at times, but did not cry.

Went to the funeral of my first cousin. We did not have any serious relationship. He committed suicide in slow motion: alcoholism. The reason: he grew up in the same environment I grew up. That is the time when I really cried. Enough for all the years that preceded.

I am currently unable to cry (and it’s not for lack of wanting to) but nothing ever comes out; the only time I’ve cried in the last ten years was when a friend of mine died during a deployment

I shed tears very often, several times a week, normally reminiscing or daydreaming or longing. Sobbing or bawling happens much less often. The last time I sobbed was my last breakup, which was years ago at this point.

I'm emotional and I'm fine with it. I don't care what anyone thinks about it - I don't want them in my life if they have issues with it. I don't care how manly it is or isn't. I'm not an actor playing a role. I don't need to make any special effort to be me.

Since I hit my puberty barely ever. I can say that very often I do feel that I do WANT to cry - but I just cant. I can feel this tingling in corners of my eyes and nothing happens. Even when actively trying to let it go tears just do not flow. Which is frustrating since I was very much crybaby as a child.

Some time ago I have read that it is physical gendered characteristic - men have wider nasolacrimal ducts, which lets much more water through before they start overflowing. That fits my experience very well. And I have to say that it is one of the things that bother me a lot.

I don't really cry , maybe one time per 3 years. I was a very sensitive boy has a kid and when I started to understand that no one would ever care for me, I just understood that crying serves no purpose, no utility. I'm just feeling like a corpse who didnt start the decomposition process.

Happy stuff makes me tear up. That's about it. I actually cry-cried once three years ago. My car got totaled at a wedding I didn't even want to go to and didn't have a good time at, and a phantom tow company took it. I spent almost two months trying to locate it just so I could get it paid out. Surprisingly, they gave me a decent amount for it, so I was able to make a great down payment on a new one, but suddenly having another $400/month bill to pay wasn't pleasant.

It was just so much happening at once. I was expected to show up at a wedding where I barely knew the bride and groom, barely even got to see my then-girlfriend (maid of honor at that wedding, now my wife), and I ended up spending most of the afternoon and evening babysitting the bride's drama queen sister. This ate up my whole weekend and I had to be at work the next day, or face the wrath of a boss who hated me but couldn't actually get rid of me.

So many expectations all at once. I finally lost it and broke down. I don't profess to have all the answers, but at this point, I didn't even have a compass to point me in the right direction.

The last time was when I had a really bad stomach pain, I was groaning and rolling around for what felt like eternity and my father told me to not overreact and then I just screamed as hard as I can at him and broke down to tears while still enduring the stomach pain. It was at least a decade ago. Nowadays my eyes just get a little moist and my vision gets blurry whenever I see something really sad or really sweet.

I don't think I've cried in front of another human since 2020 when my uncle died. I don't remember times I've cried at all since then because they were insignificant.

Edit: Oh I do remember crying at a video game I've played since then. It was The Walking Dead game.

Basically I only cry from social rejection. Without going into details, its particularly hard for me to connect emotionally due to my upbringing and its following relationships. I fumbled a romantic interest recently and I cried not for thay one specific moment, but a general pain I feel for the difficulties in connections that seem to come to others far easier than they do for me, and I just lament being to fucked up these days.

What also makes it even more difficult now is that I lost half my left leg in a motorcycle accident. For reference, I never cried at all about losing a leg. But now on top of it all Im fucking deformed, so my chances of finding someone dropped significantly.
