More men choosing to go into politics does not a patriarchy make. A patriarchy is a system where men are given power of rule and women have no say and in which men use their power to advantage men.

Women are not excluded. They can and do go into politics. Women have equal voting rights, in fact there are more eligible women voters than men. As a man, I have no more power of rule than any woman. We don’t pass laws advantaging men, we’ve passed many laws advantaging women.

We don’t live in a patriarchy. Feminists love patriarchy theory because the idea men oppress women is how they justify special advantages for women.

I'm from Brazil and here it would sound silly for a feminist to say we live in a patriarchy.

We've actually had a few centuries of patriarchal communities organized in self sulficient plantations that were the dominant societal organization form up until the XIX century. So calling a modern liberal democracy a patriarchy would sound as much of an empty stretch as it actually is. But for some reason people in the US are ok with using that word.

Every time I see an American feminist trying to explain what she means by "the patriarchy" she follows the perfect pseudoscience's modus operandi. She starts by assuming the modern US is in fact a patriarchy and then tries to justify it. It's impossible for her to be proven wrong, since the "fact" she lives under a patriarchy is taken as a presupposition and the justification is only an exercise in mental gymnastics and biases with no rigor whatsoever.

Feminism is a religion, no different than any other religion. And, one thing every religion needs, is a "nemesis", a boogeyman to point at and say: "We're fighting against this." Abramhamic religions have their Satan, and feminists have their patriarchy. One trait of any religions boogeyman is: They don't exist. Why? Well, if the boogeyman actually exists, it can be vanquished/defeated, and if it can be defeated, then the religion won't have a reason to exist.

The argument that "The Patriarchy" is a valid scientific theory because feminists in university cite papers written by other feminists (with no reproducable research or independently verified research), is no more valid than Catholic theology. Both start with a conclusion and seek to prove it. Both ignore outside evidence. Both venerate martyrs of the faith/cause.

The difference in the two is that you can question Catholic dogma without graduating from the seminary, and Catholicism is far older and has more papers "proving" it.

What feminists mean by 'patriarchy' is in fact: human society. Feminist's supremacism sees men as the cause of everything bad, thus the very imperfection of life is 'the Patriarchy'.
Blaming the other for everything is typical of abusers; feminism acts as an abuser with all men.

The more interesting question might be what to replace it with, how do we explain the development of gender relationships throughout hsitory until today?
I think the patriarchy falacy might still persist due to not been a better developed concept to replace it with if that makes sense.
I think we need to push a more 50/50 lence of the past and society to be able to defeat it, we need a counter narrative basicaly, we often ehre just stand for real equality and merit wich soudns perfect to me, yet is not a narrative that can replace patriarchy at least not just like that needs more developing i would imagine.

The patriarchy was a buzzword feminists had to make up back in the day.

The way feminism recruited was through man hating. That’s why there are very few attractive feminist and almost all are damaged in some way. So they’re recruited through hatred, lesbianism, radicalism, etc.

Feminism was born during the global socialist revolution. So they replaced “capitalism” and “bourgeoisie” with “patriarchy”. They follow the exact same oppressor/oppressed nonsense of structuralist thinking. Ie: philosophy for dumb shits. Hence, the lack of IQ testing in feminism.

If you look at old (and many current) feminist signs it’s basically the same signs as the Russian socialist revolution but with “worker” replaced with “women”. A la “~~socialism~~ feminism is the radical idea that ~~workers~~ women are people too”.

Just rebranded socialism in high heels. It was entirely based on that.

When they say “smash the patriarchy” what they actually mean is “destroy capitalism”.

Feminist Patriarchy is an imaginary concept that is used as a manipulation tactic to demonize male perspectives, male decision making, male power, men in general. It basically is used to disempower men and is a projection that men band together to flourish as a group over women. Like I said it is a projection because when people say patriarchy, they are doing it to attack men and men’s interest. Why do you think they never argue against the ideas themselves, they use it to attack men, because it is being used to create the idea of conflict to get people emotional. Emotional people that suggest that women are being harmed and emotional people that are trying to go out of their way to defend the allegedly harmed because they don’t investigate the merit or the legitimacy of the complaint. Complaints are not filtered through reality, they are only reacted to as if they are automatically real because someone said they were and they are behaving emotionally or are suggesting someone is acting through bigotry. No other explanation or investigation of the original situation is even considered or factored into the reaction to said event.

There is no patriarchy. Just regular people being too invested in ideological bullshit and useless social norms who all project their beliefs on others. It might feel hard, but people need to be shut up. If they want others to care about their values they have to convince them, not persuade them. I lot of issues men face these days are a result of patriarchy. Not intentional outcomes necessarily, but side effects of how society was structured.

Also bear in mind, a lot of privilege comes from wealth as well. Money can deal with a lot of problems regardless of your identity.

I don’t think it’s difficult to understand patriarchy just means a system where all/most of the power is held by men. This is objectively true for countries like the United States, and absolutely has not been “disproven multiple times.”

I think a lot of men get triggered by this because they think patriarchy means things are peachy for all men. It doesn’t. Patriarchy doesn’t mean that most/all men are in power, but it does mean that most/all in power are men.

It’s important to acknowledge this because from there we can talk about why this came to be, what are the effects (good or bad), and what can be done to remedy the negative effects. There really is no reason for MRAs to get so triggered by the concept of the patriarchy existing.
