I've been reading and actively discussing on this sub for a while now and I really wonder: Why is it that the main things discussed here seem to be dating and sex, and not long term considerations of interactions between men and women? Topics that are often found here are discussions about how difficult the dating market is for men, how it gets more and more difficult for average men to get laid, dating preferences of women and so on. It seems to me that this focus is a bit weird. Getting laid, or getting a date doesn't radically change your life. Having a relationship does however. And no, you don't necessarily need to go through classical dating to get into a relationship. I know plenty of people who met their partners at their hobbies and spent a lot of time together there, falling in love before even going on a date or having sex. This sub seems to be hyper focused on the trope of "Ask her out, get on dates, have sex" and nothing beyond. The purpose of this post is, that I wanted to ask around whether you agree with this observation, and if yes, why you think this is the case. I have some explanations but am not sure about them. It could be: 1.Confirmation bias from my side, or just being on the sub on unlucky times. 2. Peoples ideals are radically different than mine and they just want to get laid. My goal is a meaningful relationship. 3. The age demographic here is younger than I thought and people are not yet in relationships and still figuring out life. 4. People who can't get a date or are generally unhappy with dating post more often.
