Look at it this way.

Do you think the quality of women available to you at 40 is going to be better than at early to mid 30s? Or are the best prospects for LTRs and marriage going to be long since locked down by then?

Peaking at 35 is an average. Some men peak at 20, others at 40. You have to look at your individual situation, not as if dating were some kind of formula.

Women in their 20's are fin with a guy in his 30's.

But they have a psychological barrier to a man over 40. Some are fine with that but most are not, at least unless the guy is wealthy or very good looking and fit.

Yes, I think they’re different.

Men typically can date down about 2-7 years at these ages. That’s the natural market for males, as females at these ages typically date up a similar amount.

That’s going to make the market for our 35 yo typically 28-33 yo women. At these ages a lot of the good “wife candidates” are available and have started looking for a husband. So quantity available will be higher than in his early 20s and quality will stay pretty high.

The same age spread is going to make the market for our 40 yo typically 33-38 yo women. At these ages a lot of the good “wife candidates” will be gone (either married or already in the LTR that will lead to marriage) and will by this point be getting rather desperate to get a husband in time to have their kids before 40-42. So quantity available will be slightly lower than at 35 (as more are married off) although those remaining should be easy targets. In addition quality will probably be way lower as by this age the best ones are already gone and a significant number of “failed first marriages, possibly with kids” are reentering the market.

So.... I would suggest that IF his objective is a wife then mid-30s is clearly a better time to snag one. However IF he doesn’t want to get married and wants to keep sleeping around 40 might be the better end of the range as quality is not so important and he’ll be hunting in a target rich/easy access market as women are trying to”get a guy” before their eggs go off.

TL:DR; 35 is better for getting wife candidates, 40 better for getting laid (but you’ve probably missed all the good wives by then).

All depends on your smv/rmv at that age. If you made some poor lifestyle choices, financial choices, or health choices when you were younger that's when they start to catch up to you.

TRP theory holds that men "peak" at 35.

That's "on average" and TRP also says "Don't be average. Be the best version of you that you can be".

I was just thinking if a guy let that soak in for a few years and got married at 40, is his dating market value and opportunities going to be significantly different? What do you think?

"Significantly"? Probably not, all things being equal. "Marginally", sure. There will be somewhat less of a direct correlation between decline of SMV for women, plotted against, and the same for men, although there will be some correlation for men, as well.

Since it's the same guy, making all things being even, do you see his opportunities drying up? Take a non celebrity. If they are attractive at 35, chances are 40 won't be much different, maybe better even.

Some say "Do you want to be 60 when your kids are in high school?" imply that by 60 you're too old and immobile to handle little people. If you're fat and lazy, sure. Nothing to do with age.

Some say "No 20 year old will want you!" Implying that women are shallow and only want young meat. I've seen enough examples of this to know it's bullshit.

Some say "Most women are meeting men in early to mid 20, while they are early to mid 20s" Which doesn't say anything really. Showing what the herd does says nothing about what you can do. By that logic, no one would ever be a millionaire because the most guys earn 30k - 50k a year.

The relevant factors would be your wealth, looks, personality, what you are looking for, how jaded you are. Age in this case is literally 100% irrelevant.

I doubt anyone on here could even tell the difference between 35 yo and 40 yo if they were dressed and groomed the same and had similar genetics.

For example - a 40 yo leisure class millionaire who is in good shape from skiing around the world is going to have far more options than a chubby, financially stable 35 yo McDonalds store manager.

Men peak at 22, tops. Physically that is when men are at their most attractive and their bodies are naturally fit and lean and appealing to a very wide percentage of young women, without having to use artificial means like bodylifting. Most still have a full head of hair without a receding like, wrinkles don't exist that much if at all, and their dicks work better.

When a man is in his mid 30s, even if he is in his late 20s, his chances of getting attractive women in their late teens to early 20s are very low, and the guys who get those women are usually using money to get it. The dating options of men who are in their mid-30s are shitty. They're stuck with women who are either looking for marriage or were married, women who want children or have children already, and the women look as bad as the men do. Their hair lost it's youthful luster, they have eye-wrinkles and mouth wrinkles, and they lost their natural fitness meaning it's easy for them to get fat.

Of course high-class women have the money and the time to spend on the gym 24/7 and they can afford beauty treatments and high-priced creams, but the majority of men are working class and will never get one of those women so why care about what is not attainable.

I'll let you know in a couple of years. So far things are about the same. The age of the women go up a bit, but there are still plenty of them on the market.

I actually went on strong trt since last fall and now have more muscle and leanness then i did ten years ago

Thats not true . I think who ever said males peak at 35 has an agenda. Some very rich men at that age get younge girls which is socially accepted prostitution. Yes 20 percent of males still look good like many women that keep their looks but your average male strats balding and gets a belly. Testosterone declines at 35 so no your smv is not higher than when u were 25. You can make your smv higher a little bit by going to gym and earning money or status.

TRP has a very clear path for young men to follow from age 16 or so until they are old and decrepid.

If you lift and you invest and you work hard to build a career then yes. . .maybe 33, maybe 35, you will be at your kick-ass best to to slay pussy from 18 to oblivion.

But honestly, there is nothing a 35 year old can do to outperform a 40 year old. Not on the track, not in the board room and not in the bedroom.

However, the second part of your question needs a bit more.

Marriage is very NON TRP. It is a fundamental flaw in TRP. They have no end game. I got married at age 50.

Me, personally, I figure I "peaked" at 29. Ok, wait let's back up. I "peaked" at 18 when I sang in a rock band and had my run of the place. However, at 29 I was retired army sergeant and a law student . . . and things were looking good.
