The whole point in dating is to get to know someone and fall in love with them. Do looks matter, yes, since they pretty much rely on your preferences in a partner. But is looks where it all ends? No. It’s literally not even the beginning of being with someone. Unless you expect for you and your partner to fall in love at first sight, it’s not gonna happen.

Just because you think someone is attractive doesn’t mean they’ll be with you. Just because you want a certain type doesn’t mean they’re for you (ie gamer going for an athlete). You can have your preferences and other will have theirs. In addition to preferences, compatibility plays a huge part in getting with someone and keeping it long term. Looks are only a fraction of that.

And just how you’re suppose to like how your partner looks they have to like you too. And it’s all subjective. To make it the main focus is mundane. It shows how little personality some people have since they never speak about themselves.

In the long run looks fade. Couples get comfortable and maybe gain a bit of weight together, try different styles, even become different people as you will as well. compatibility is a huge factor and looks is just a small factor. Getting caught up on first impressions/ looks makes no sense.
