Just some observations I've made, but something that has been apparent to me for a while has been that how someone styles and presents themselves has an absolute impact on the type of partners (or lack thereof) that they end up having. Personal styling in general is one of the handful of very obvious forms of self-expression, and it's one of the easiest ways to differentiate yourselves from others, from what I've seen.

Whether these styles and forms of presentation are influenced by social circle or not, how someone presents is what creates that first impression that someone has of you, and immediately, you will form some sort of opinion based on your own personal biases. As far as how this relates to dating, I think one can argue that personal style and overall presentation are the first thing anyone will notice when they first look in your direction, which impacts their perception of you. Based on what I see, social circles in general also follow the same trends and will present in a roughly similar fashion, more or less (some dressed up, some dressed down, but largely with the same overall aesthetic).

Another thing I have generally noticed is that a lot of individuals I encounter in passing (e.g. just see on the street) are very unlikely to have presentation and style that is particularly interesting or eye-catching. This seems less true for younger crowds, which are more likely to be actively dating, but often, the vast majority of people I see (both men and women) seem relatively uninspired in presentation, where they aren't maximizing their style, or just completely half-ass it.

I would argue that for the vast majority of men (since my base of knowledge is of male fashion and presentation) specifically, the way they dress and present fails to convey much in the way of.... personality or signature aesthetic, which means that many men come off as undifferentiated, or for lack of a better term, bland.

What are your experiences with this? Would you say that your own fashion choices are impacted by your social circles or vice versa? How much does personal styling impact who you find attractive and the types of people you attract? How much do you believe personal aesthetics and styling can impact attractiveness? Do you have any specific style and presentation rules that you adhere to?

I am really just curious to see what people have to say on the topic since I see less on PPD about fashion and presentation than I'd have expected. I realize a lot of this will be opinion based, but I wonder where people rank presentation in terms of relative importance.
