Both are physical. Romantic attraction will give you butterflies in the stomach, sexual attraction will give you butterflies in the clitoris.

Both are satisfying, but it's generally the case that the satisfaction lasts longer for romantic attraction IMO.

You don't necessarily have to like the person

Shit I even have sexual fantasies of people hate-fucking me. All the more compelling if someone despised you yet couldn't resist you. Granted, I don't actively have enemies, so it is purely fantasy.

Romantic implies sexual, but not the other way around. A guy I'm romantically attracted to is someone I want to cuddle and to fuck. A guy i'm just sexually attracted to I just want to fuck.

Romantic and sexual attraction go hand in hand for me personally. For me its more on the mental side.

I can come across a hot man and may find him attractive but dont lust for him nor have romantic/sexual desire as I dont connect with him mentally.

For me, romantic attraction includes sexual attraction. But sexual attraction on its own is purely physical. I may find them physically attractive, but personality-wise they barely meet the threshold for friendship.

If I have romantic attraction to someone that includes lusty feelings. If there was no lust tied in there they'd just be a friend. However, I can have lusty feelings without the romantic attraction.

Sexual attraction is easier for me. I only rarely develop romantic attraction for someone whereas I'm quite frequently sexually attracted to people.

For sexual attraction I generally need to have spoken to them; I don't tend to immediately want to jump someone upon meeting them (unless I've already spoken to them before meeting and built a bit of rapport a la tinder). They need to be reasonably decent to talk to.

For romantic attraction I need to know them well and have spent a lot of time with them/a lot of time speaking to them.

This is a rare thread that acknowledges the difference between physical and emotional attraction.

When the subject of looks comes up you will hear blue pillers and women say "well surely it's better that your relationship is based on emotional connection rather than physical attraction, the attraction isn't enough to sustain a relationship" etc. The reason this is a silly argument is ugly men don't have a monopoly on emotional attraction.

Firstly, being good looking will allow you to get easier emotional attraction compared to someone who is average or below, and the life experience of having women throw themselves at you generally gives you much better confidence and social skills that further lends itself to creating better personality/emotional connections.

On the flip side, physically attractive men do have a monopoly on genuine physical attraction. The sort of sexual excitement and lust that being good looking creates can never be replicated by a below average looking man, he can only ever rely on creating an emotional interest.

Below average to average looking men can get relationships but their relationships are always going to be missing that vital genuine burning sexual desire. Whereas good looking men can have the best of both worlds.

By your definition, I haven't ever experienced "sexual attraction." Which is strange since I've been married twice and had a lot of great sex with my husbands.

For me, the intimacy/trust/caring comes first. The deeper that connection is, the more I'm likely to see someone in a sexual light, and desire them. Sexual attraction just doesn't flip my switch without that attachment. In the meantime, I have a perfectly healthy libido and will enjoy my "private time" but there is zero desire for any person that I'm not sufficiently bonded with.

I'm the last person on earth you'd want to chase for casual sex (never had it, never wanted to), but I make a great, enthusiastic LT partner, and I'm never tempted to cheat. /shrug

As a guy romantic attraction is like this girl is within my attraction preference where you aren't embarrassed to let your friends know. Same with smart enough etc. Basically if you meet friends it means you are seen as at the very least an equal.

Sexual attraction is basically almost anything depending on how horny and how long of a dry spell its been.

Sexual attraction is a subset of romantic attraction. I usually need to have romantic attraction first and then build up to sexual attraction.
