Looking at threads from the past week, it looks like rejection is the topic du jour. Many Blues and Purples (even a few Reds) seem to have misinterpreted TRP's focus on raising one's SMV to mean that we think women only reject men based on the man's objective attractiveness. So I thought I'd clarify.

There are 1000's of reasons a woman might reject a man. Reasons are as varied as;

He's fat, she's on her period and doesn't want to gross him out, he's a d*ck, she just got out of a relationship, she's pissed off because she's on her period, she's pissed off because work is stressful, her girlfriend has a crush on said guy, she's super busy, she's in a hurry, she has a yeast infection down there and it's painful/embarrassing, and many more.

One thing you may notice is that the vast majority of reasons she'd say no have nothing to do with the guy in question. I would say that of the 1000's of reasons a woman might reject a guy, only about 5% have anything to do with him, and only 2-3% have to do with 'defects' and him, rather than just matters of taste.

So the next logical question you'd ask, assuming you're playing along at home, is why does TRP focus on that tiny 2-3% that's related to SMV? The answer is, of course, because that's the only part we can control. When I ask a girl out, I can't control how her day at work was, or whether she and her mother had an argument last night. I can't control whether she's already dating someone, or if she only dates guys who are 6' minimum. What I can control is whether she looks at me and sees a fat, neck-bearded slob, or a fit, well groomed man with some concept of style who seems to have his sh*t together. Why would anyone want to handicap themselves, or not take every advantage available?

TL;DR: There are 1000s of reasons a woman might reject a man. Many have nothing to do with him, and even fewer are issues of objective attractiveness that he can change/control. But from a TRP/strategic perspective, It makes sense to focus on the factors in your control, rather than the things you can't change or effect.
