Anyone who uses the label sapiosexual is trying to convince people they are intelligent by using a fancy word. Why are they going through the effort? My suspicion is that they doubt their intellect and/or social standing. It seems of special snowflake.

It is an important component of attraction for many people, myself included, but I would suggest that it is subordinate to other more important factors in virtually everyone. What I will say is that I wouldn't date anyone for a significant period of time who didn't show signs of intelligence.

There are people who are less attracted to people than they are to feet, or animals, or cars, so it's not outside the realm of possibility. I think a lot of people self-identify as sapiosexuals for the attention rather than because intelligence actually gets them off, however.

Intelligence is important to most people, but not necessarily the only or even most important thing.

There may be some outliers who are sexually aroused by intelligence, but in general most people are not. That doesn't mean it isn't an attractive quality in a person -- it can be, depending on who you are yourself. But "sexually attracted" means arousing, and I don't think there are that many men, at least, who get hard because of a woman's intellect.

once on OKC, i saw a guy list his sexual orientation as "sapiosexual". my general rule of thumb is that if a man list anything other than STRAIGHT, INTO WOMEN ONLY on their profile, they are either gay, DL, bisexual or experimented with men and i want no part of that.

Yes, I definitely think so. The person has to be somewhat physically attractive, too. But intelligence can be a high secondary sexual quality in many people

I don't get why we need a label for that. Of course intelligence is hot, if you hone and make actual use of it. Nobody gets turned on by you "winning" arguments against strangers on the internet, which seems like something people who actually use the word "sapiosexual" seem to enjoy a lot. You know, instead of having interesting and challenging things going on in their lives.
Like people who use the word "classy". They're hardly ever "classy" at all.
Or self-titled Nice Guys^TM. I've yet to meet an actual nice one.
Or guys who call refer to themselves as "alpha" without bursting into laughter...

Most men are sexually attracted to women with slender, H/W proportionate, hourglass figures, pretty faces, big tits, tight asses and long legs.

If I'm to believe women's actions by watching who they actually fuck, most women are sexually attracted to men with sharply defined jawlines, V-shaped torsos, dark complexions and hair, muscular definition in the shoulders, arms and torso, and big cocks.

I think that literally everyone is attracted to intelligence. Everyone. "Saposexuality" is like me (a straight man) claiming to have "mammosexuality" because I like big tits.

Sure, a lot of intelligent people have other negative traits which counteract their SMV, but between two otherwise equivalently attractive people, the more intelligent one will have more options on the dating market. Yes, even intelligent women.

I don't doubt that intelligence raises SMV, as long as, AS LONG AS, all other factors are adequately met. You can't be a social retard with poor hygiene and expect to slay using just your brains, which I think is a common mistake.

They are lying to others or themselves, because there is no such thing. If there was - I would know, I've been studying in best schools in my country and getting a phd in the us...
