There's more going on here than a simple disagreement about vegan vs non-vegan lifestyles. Like another guy in the thread said, if Brad Pitt offered to take this HB8 on a hunting trip, she'd be falling over herself to learn how to use a rifle.

This was a test, a call for you to either verify that you're not that person and thus validate her view, or to show her that you are 100% that person and communicate to her that she can deal with it or piss off. By taking the middle road (logically offering counterpoints and hiding behind them), you neutralized yourself and your potential polarity. It probably disgusted her.

The problem wasn't so much that you challenged her, it was that you challenged her and failed. Hot women don't have any reason to put up with that kind of failure, and she let you know that pretty clearly.

Lesson: whatever you do or say, own it. You would have seen radically different results if you'd responded with, "so does that mean you don't want to see the 14-point buck I nailed last weekend? guess I'll have to mount that sucker myself." See? You don't have to mean it, you don't have to care, you don't need to have ever hunted before at all. You just needed to not validate her militant veganism by arguing with it logically.

Veggies and vegans come in a few flavours, so to speak:

medical issues - their body doesn't tolerate certain foods
don't like the taste of it
religious-minded types (who might be socially religious or true believers)
moral types who think it is bad to kill/exploit animals
health types who think they are doing their body a favour

I met a few when I lived in Vancouver and they were fine enough to have around and chit chat with but really, I think they have some issues (except for the ones with actual medical issues or the socially religious types).

I wouldn't date a vegetarian on any serious level and certainly not a vegan.

But the Red Pill lesson is that you never debate anything with a women you are trying to get romantic with. And it's worse if it is not black and white because then it is usually her feels against your logic. After you have been banging her for 6 months then maybe you can "discuss" your differences in viewpoints on a few selected topics. However, religion, politics, many social issues and things like vegetarianism/veganism (which is kind of all three rolled together) are just "raise, call and show your cards".

If you are seriously considering the long term potential with her and want to piss or get off the pot, then go ahead. If you are content with an ongoing relationship with no set expiry date then it is best to leave that one alone.

I'm a vegetarian (and not a red pill-er). On this specific issue I think I can see where she was coming from. I've known a lot of people over the years who took my vegetarianism personally, like I was personally judging them. I've also known people who said deliberately cruel things to try to get a reaction. Or try to find tiny inconsistencies in my morality as though they are the first person who ever thought of these arguments ('Plants have feelings too!' 'What about all the small animals that get killed at harvest!' ). I avoid discussing it when I first meet people because it's difficult to know how they will react and people can get surprisingly hostile. I'm not saying you were deliberately trying to goad a response from her but it might have come across that way. Honestly, I think it's best to just save the heavy ethical debates until after you've gotten to know someone a bit better.

When debating a woman I've found that the best method to use is the Socratic method, this makes her feel like she came to the logical conclusion on her own. I don't know what the pro-hunting arguments are, but here's an idea for how the Socratic method would look:

You: You empathize with the suffering of animals, right?

Her: Yes.

You: Would you say that keeping them locked in a cage for our consumption is a means of increasing their suffering?

Her: Yes.

You: Would you agree that some humans can't be swayed into becoming vegetarians, either because of dietary needs or because they lack compassion?

Her: Yes.

You: Then why not endorse these people to hunt the animals that they are so determined to eat instead of having them support an industry that maximizes the suffering of animals? A free life followed by a quick death is preferential to a life spent imprisoned in a cage and injected with chemicals.

Her: I see your point.

Her responses aren't always going to be simple yeses and nos and she will try to steer you off topic multiple times. Make sure you don't budge. Stay on topic and follow the sequential steps of the argument through to the logical conclusion by asking the right questions.

Sometimes when using the Socratic method you'll find that you'll start challenging your own beliefs and realize that you hold certain beliefs for irrational reasons. If that happens, stay with it and follow the ideas to their logical conclusion. Life should be about uncovering truths as opposed to justifying biases.

This is something I've noticed and encountered time and time again with women. They HATE being challenged on opinions. My sister is the same way. Whenever we talk about a subject and anyone gives a differing view from hers she gets real pissy and curt with the person. This happens so often over the phone the conversation shuts down completely, aaaand crickets. It's to the point of not wanting to pick up the phone when she calls because it always derails into that shit.

With a guy you can 8 times out of 10 just say "Ok, I don't agree. Here's what I think" and there's no friction (unless it's one of those extreme preachy lefty vegan/feminist activist dudes).

I had a coworker who was a die hard feminist and I made the mistake of debating with her. I got tired and called her out on the bullshit about women being opressed in our western civilized societies and she fucking lost her shit. She DESPISED me after that. Would barely look at me when we walked past each other in the workplace. If you are considered attractive in their eyes they give you more leeway though. In my experience. If you manage to invoke her ire along the way and she demotes you to nonfuckable, look out. The gloves come off right quick. The person in this case became awful and went out of her way to throw all kinds of labels at me. Suddenly I was anti-handicapped people, a sexist, a racist, a this and a that.

She just pulled whatever out of the hat to get at me with. All of it baseless just because she couldn't handle being contradicted by someone she disagreed with. I've since made it a point not to discuss anything with women. Their opinions are white noise as far as I care. Discussion is pointless in general but with women you're just shooting yourself in the foot by engaging them whatsoever in matters of politics or other things. Keep it light and breezy with some cheeky innuendo. Talk celebrity gossip, soaps, music, popculture or stuff like that. Dumb it down to their level.

OP, I get that she probably over-reacted unless you're seriously over-exaggerating how 'respectful' you were (which I suspect you were). If you were making fun even a little bit or pushing it can come off quite badly on your part, especially because vegans have to deal with that shit all the time. I think you might not be revealing everything OP, if you could be more clear about what exactly you said and how you said it, that would be more useful. I get the impression you pushed the subject when she wasn't interested in having an argument with you, and it made you seem like a dick. The people saying that if you just were more cocky about the subject there would have been no problem are full of shit, it's wishful thinking, not reality. You skipped the hard part of trp and are here basically looking for the easy way out on this. Had you internalized trp, walked in that date with bulging muscles and a six figure income, she wouldn't have reacted that way. Again, that message she sent was just an excuse because she didn't like you. Getting to the point of an idgaf attitude is hard and people are not understanding this anytmore. If you don't do the work and try to pull off an idgaf attitude it isn't going to seem natural. Once you lift for a year straight on a good program, make six figures or more, the idgaf attitude comes completely naturally. So does amused mastery. But and however, you have to do the other work or you will just be seen as arrogant for no good reason. You have nothing to back up your idgaf attitude. In other words, you are faking it and women being ultra perceptive to that sort of thing will see right through you.

Op, go monk, lift, work on your career or education and get back out there. This wouldn't have happened if you checked those boxes off first. Use this as a lesson. Never listen to what women say, listen to their actions. She doesn't want another date, but as you said, you were very polite about this. So, she is using that point of disagreement as an excuse to not see you again. If it was Brad Pitt or you had a magic Mike body, she wouldn't have put an ounce of thought into spreading her legs and opening her throat to jam your dick down it.

I do not believe that women have a deep political/philosophical/ethical convictions and engagement..as strong as men can have. They pretend to be political...but they don't care really.

I had this with many of my female relatives or friends. I was with a group of people and there was a German girl who expressed strong political opinion against the US and military in general. She was really anti-US. Few minutes later, an American guy, a 9, a real alpha joined the group and she dropped all her attitude. This guys was everything she hated...and yet she was all over him. He took her number and I am sure he'll be banging her all week end..

don't debate or discuss philosophy with women you want to bang. logic just isn't sexy to the opposite sex.

don't undermine things that are very emotionally important to people. how would you like it if someone explained to you how your career or favorite hobby was totally worthless and stupid?

and personally, i don't waste any time on vegans. do you really want to make two dinners or go to vegan-friendly restaurants?
