Reminds me of that recent bbc video where some woman travelling on a train complains of the horror of some man handing her written note telling her to smile more before leaving the train.

EDIT: The point of that story is that she didn’t see what the guy looked like. She has a choice to assume he was hot or he was a ‘creep’ and guess which one she defaults to. This therefore places the move in the low confidence realm because only a low confidence person would attempt such communication indirectly.

This method has a lot going for it at many levels which belie its simplicity.

1/ It demonstrates confidence by setting a dominant but none needy frame, you're not trying to negotiate or overtly transmit "value" to the woman instead you're setting the presupposition that this is how things work when you're a man with an abundance of women in your life.

2/ It creates mystery and curiosity about yourself and both of these feelings operate at the emotional "seeking" part of the brain. Attraction in someone makes you want to seek and acquire the thing in question then you have the feedback loop of "I'm seeking this thing so that means I desire it".

3/ Sending someone a text is very easy to do and puts little or no pressure on the texter to not do it.

4/ It's an excellent time management and filtering technique; sort of an attraction enabling "fire and forget missile".

I think the business card is lame. Hand written is better. But only if you hand it to her, look her in the eye and say "text me."

Leaving a note on a receipt is too passive and looks wimpy.

I like giving her your number or card after a brief interaction, leaving it for her is a bit weak.

Either way you get her number without adding any social pressure to the interaction.

Don't be too afraid to add social tension. You want to get her feeling/thinking about the interaction.

It's also how you weed out the interested from the not interested.

I've definitely done this. I work in a bar, sometimes you just need to be subtle because she's with her friends. Little piece of paper with your number and name on it will suffice. Doesn't always lead to something, but I've always gotten a text out of it. Got slipped a number myself a couple of times, actually.

Done this before. Had plenty of IoIs. Wrote my personal number on the back of a business card, handed it to a customer. Didn't even say "text me", just said here's my personal number if you need anything. Knew it had backfired when she texted me not 5 minutes later and proceeded to blow up my phone. She turned out to have serious daddy issues.

This was pre-RP so I wouldn't do this again. I don't shit where I eat anymore.

Yep, I do this on dating sites. When our conversation is going well I say "here's my number. Text me and we can get a drink.". Works almost every time.

I like the idea if you’re fairly certain she’s down AND there isn’t time to run game or get her number directly, like if she’s busy working, etc.

One thing I encounter a lot with waitresses however is that they’re expressly told not to date customers (or at least that’s what they say lol)... in this case I like the note drop—or better yet, a business card with social media and phone number.

Because: A) if she’s actually just not interested it’s probably because she sees you as low value SMV. The business card demonstrates high value almost by definition, and if it links to social media and that’s cool, so much the better.

B) if she’s telling the truth, now you’ve found a way around it, which accomplishes the same thing as passing a shit test i.e. I’m a man who gets what he wants.

Word to the wise: don’t shit where you eat. If you go to the bar or restaurant a lot, it’s better to run game on other women who come there, even if the waitresses there like you, because then you have quasi pre-selection from them.

That's probably the only thing that's confusing to me sometimes on here. A lot of people give good advice, but the advice contradicts what someone else says in the "micro management" aspect. Everyone says that you need to approach, sure, but "how" and "what works" is quite different in each and every post.

OP, do you think the women text to advance to a more intimate situation, or simply augment their social matrix? I realize that this may differ across a spectrum of women, and the answer might be both in some cases.

I suppose your experiences in what happens after the initial text session will help give clarity to the matter.
