It is not a crime to talk to girls under the age of 18. When you figure out that she is underage you eject and move along.

I'm 31 and I've opened 17 year olds. If when I get up close they look really young I just ask how old they are and eject if their too young. 20 is usually the cutoff age for me, despite 16 being legal.

Several questions you can ask.

"Hey, you still in school?" If you think they're in university or might have finished studying.

"What are you studying?" If you think that they could be in High School. If they're in High School they normally say that right away off of this question. Otherwise, if they say they're studying some subject then go from there.

I ask these questions in day game and night game. Can't trust being at a bar for a defense against someone being under aged. I've met several 16-17 year olds at the bar, but these questions have saved my ass many times.

They're not fool proof obviously because they can lie or be underaged yet still at university. But its a quick time saver that can help you out during day game that doesn't kill the mood with "How old are you?"

Yes, because I'm a high school teacher. I get paranoid anywhere that is not the bar. It only takes one mistake to lose my job, even making a pass.

If she's underage, it's funny and you laugh it off while you look for another girl. Or hey, you could continue talking to them, because a conversation is a conversation. Just keep an eye on your peripherals for Chris Hansen.

I'm only paranoid if I/they are interested enough that something more than talking will happen. Usually though, it is quite easy to determine who is too young from 5 minutes of conversation.
