You're next up to bat. What's it cost you to swing?
[–][deleted] 73 points74 points75 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
2nd this. Don't read too much into every action or lack of in just meeting someone on tinder and having few exchanges. It's tinder and should not be taken too seriously. Plus don't be so pessimistic about her and hard on yourself. Shit, it's actually good sign if she only pitches to one person at a time until she figures out if she wants to continue seeing the guy or not. If not, then moves onto the next top prospect. Idk why that bothers people, once again it's tinder. Its good that she remembered that you where interesting enough to hit back up after not talking for minute. Step up and be yourself and see if she is what your looking for before reading too much into the cover. People are too quick to judge eachother online these days. Best of luck.

Flaking and ghosting are highly disrespectful and shows lack of integrity and character, and that you don't give a shit about the other person or his/her time. If you accept this type of behavior from someone else, you deserve to be treated as such again in the future imo.

His dignity
[–][deleted] 26 points27 points28 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nawh, not even that.
Provided you're not staking a huge chunk of your ego/self-worth on your responses (or lack thereof) on dating apps, there's not much dignity to be lost from going out with someone who hasn't talked to you in a minute.

Yeah I'm a chronic overthinker lol. But yeah after what happened last time I was debating if it was even worth going for it given that she will likely flake.
You're right though I shouldn't give a shit if she does flake. This is good advice, I'm gonna go for it. Thanks
[–]Corsavis 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not gonna lie...nowadays, yeah, I don't waste my time with flakes. But my favorite girl I've ever dated, I met on Tinder, and we messaged at first but then really didn't talk for like a week and a half. One day she randomly asks if I wanna get drinks that night, I did, and boom. Dated for about 6 months. She was great.
So I mean...🤷 If you got nothing else going on, sure, run it. If she goes off the grid again then definitely don't entertain it. Just throwing my anecdote out there, to each their own
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There are enough people who don't act like complete imbecile's to entertain them.
[–]EvanMcCormick 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think this hinges on the matter of 'what do you want?'
If you just want to fuck her, and are fine with a risk of flaking and a very high chance that she will move on from you after a couple weeks, go for it. That's what most guys on tinder want to do anyways lol
If you want a long-term relationship or you highly value dating people with personal integrity and honesty, etc. then this is a big red flag and you shouldn't do it.
If you don't know where you stand, I recommend going for it and seeing what happens. If all goes well, you are at least guaranteed to know where you stand on this matter in the future.

[–]sonofsonofsailor24 points 4 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]MyName_isLame 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Sometimes girls aren’t ready to meet. You have to play long game. Not with everyone but that’s how it was with me since I’m new to the dating world. You might be arranging irl meetups too quick for their pace.
[–]CodeEmotional9593 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just not so long that they get fat and ugly.
[–]Foxsundance 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Idk I was on a dating app recently. Messaging with a few people and then just decided I wanted to put the whole dating thing on hold for a while. I wasn’t ready, and I deleted it for now. So I might go back on in a few weeks, I might not. Bottom line is, my decision for withdrawing had absolutely nothing to do with any of the men on the app, and everything to do with me. Could be the same for her.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If you agree to go on a date with a guy and then you ghost / flake, without giving real and genuine reason, that's very disrespectful of his time and him. It shows you don't give two fucks about him and I wouldn't offer you a 2nd chance to such a girl.
[–]classics109 37 points38 points39 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
No. She found a better option and it didn't work. Next.
[–]sonofsonofsailor11 points 4 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]TheOffice_Account -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No, definitely meet her...but know that she isn't for the long-term. Fun time girl, not a long time one. Do you really want to LTR someone who is disorganized and flaky, and treats people like this? She's the kind of woman who loses her drivers license 3 times a year, and loses out on work promotions because she forgot to reply to important emails.
Might be good for practice and gaining experience till you meet someone who is worth LTRing.
[–]mingoflemingo[🍰] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Never read a comment full of quite so many hard assumptions
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agreed, except I'd be fine with pumping and dumping her
[–]WiiWynn 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Have her meet you at a place super convenient for you. If she flaked, then it’s up for her to make effort. This is the play for a real relationship. If she’s relationship material, she’ll put in effort and be accountable for flaking. If she’s a diva and just hops to the next option, she wasn’t worth it.
If you’re just looking to play and smash, then yes, you have to accommodate her flakey shit, depending on your options. Get your opportunity to shoot your shot.
[–]digitalEarthling 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean just know that if you say yes, she was probably dealing with someone she considered "better" than you last couple weeks and they probably ghosted her.
[–]UnPoquitoSuerte 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She went out with another dude, it didn’t work out. You’re up.
[–]rustoof 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If your other option is sitting home alone then of course you should go out.
If you want to meet her, respond. If you don’t want to meet her, don’t respond
[–]PubertEHumphrey 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just go and don’t consider it serious if you want. My uncle who would crush a lot of vag would say “what are you winning from being like that?”
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you got nothing better to do, why not? Go out and show her a great time but mention nothing about being ghosted or that you were bothered by it. Show her how amazing and cool you are then ghost her ass back. ;)
[–]determinator94 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would’ve stood out and just ignored her. Trust me when I say this - you don’t really know a woman’s rationale for finding a better option only for it to not work out and come back to you. That rationale is essentially “the grass is greener on the other side.” And it usually never is.
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So I guess for me the entire point is meeting people to see if we click. So an in person meeting is the way to go. Could be 1000 reasons why she didn’t respond for a couple weeks. I’d meet her in person and see if there’s anything there. What do you have to lose?
[–]s256173 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I understand you feel hurt, but you need to let it go. You don’t know each other well, you’re just chatting. People put different amounts of energy in the whole OLD thing and she doesn’t really owe you an explanation at this point. I could see myself not replying to a guy for a week just because I got busy and didn’t really have the energy to put into it. Trying to date is exhausting sometimes.
[–]filmmaker1111 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yeah and NO! If you were interested in a guy and he did this very same thing, “see himself not replying to you for a week because he got busy and didn’t have the energy to put into it”—Not sure if you would ok about that. In fact, the general consensus from a woman’s perspective is to call a man that does something like that TRASH for being inconsistent. So maybe we ALL need to better and effectively communicate instead of just conveniently and nonchalantly leaving people on hold like that.
[–]s256173 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The difference here is whether it’s someone I’ve had a couple dates with/ been talking to for a while or someone I had one conversation with (as it sounds like in the original post). I don’t feel like anyone owes him (or me) anything after one conversation. Why not just talk to someone else in the meantime and not overthink it?
[–]filmmaker1111 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I guess that’s a fair distinction but if you’re chatting with someone you connected with willingly you can almost get that someone will attempt to escalate things. Why not just say let me get back to you on this or something instead of ghosting the person? It’s not owing the person an explanation per se but effectively communicating and not leaving someone you “with you own agency” connected with as well—on hold for two weeks and then coming back as if nothing happened. It’s just terrible communication IMO.
[–]TheOffice_Account -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Tbh, it really depends, I would just go for it, on Tinder everyone would always have to chose one person over another in certain circumstances, however she could have just arranged a date with you some other time, maybe her ethics and principles made her think she would be two timing? Or if she was smarter, she may even be testing you, ur patience to see if you come up with some rant(like the usual guys on tinder) about how much of a loser she is and all that. I would just go, after all think about what is the worst thing that would happen if it doesnt work out, you leave her, she leaves u, period.

[–]canabizking 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Give her a date as you have plans you haven't been waiting for her. If she ghosts you again don't text back at all. But if she repeats the behaviour and wants to meet you after flaking on the second time. Tell her to come to your place with some wine and you are cooking dinner. If she comes make her suck a whole lot of your Johnson teachem manners
[–]buddhistbulgyo 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes. You barely know her. Could be a thousand different things making her respond two weeks later.
This seems to happen a lot. Happened to me twice this week lol
I had dates set up with two different girls for the weekend. Both flaked out. Honestly, I don’t give it much thought. In my mind I haven’t even met these girls so what kid of commitment should I expect from them? None at all.
Personally, I don’t really reply if they text back me after completely ghosting me for more than a few days. But that’s just me. There’ll be more opportunities to meet more girls.
If your ego doesn’t impede you from going out with this girl, then go for it. What’s there to lose?
This is a normal things on dating apps. I admit doing this sometimes and I have met people that did this to me also. I didn’t take them seriously. If they wanna grab a drink, that’s cool. If they don’t , no problem.
[–]daybit95 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My take is she had probably been talking to someone else on the apps more before you, it progressed and she was focusing on them. It ended up not working out, so now she's back and giving you a shot. This is just how it goes - accept and pick up where you left off!

She has been sucking Chad’s cock. He hasn’t called her in a couple of days. So she is checking on her simp list.

I mean if you wanna fuck her, say “I’m busy and you don’t seem to respect my time. Why should I?” Sometimes a confrontation works well and it’s not like she’s gf material acting like that. So why not?

Pssshh get outta here dude. You're out of your mind if you think both men and women don't play games. Hell, it's what most this sub is about. Sometimes being too real is just unattractive. Good luck with that though.

When you first made contact she put you down as a potential. She's now ovulating and put the offer out. Hence the common pattern you see with women reaching out weeks later. Her suggesting drinks is pretty straightforward.
Dude no.

Don’t overthink it since you don’t know the whole story. The first girl stood you up but the second girl is not the first girl. You have invested so little into this, so what does it matter at this point?
My now spouse didn’t respond for about a week when we matched through OLD. He messaged one week later after ghosting me to ask about a date. Turns out he was on a work trip. Your second girl could have a perfectly valid reason that, at this point in your non-existent relationship, she is not obligated to reveal.
[–]harmonic- 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A long time ago I got a girl's phone number on the street and didn't hear back from her for like 3 weeks. We ended up dating for seven years and I had some of my happiest moments with her. Go for it.
[–]Shadow__Account 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You can take the chance she didn’t really get to know you yet and can still get hooked. That being said the chance is quite small imo, I think we usually already get a pretty good indication of our interest level from just pictures. So if you just want sex one or a couple of times, sure got for it. But if you are looking for more I wouldn’t bother. Its a very clear, you are my 5th option, that’s why it feels bad and thirsty to take up the offer and you feel that you are being used. I totally get the dilemma, but lately I think giving in is conditioning my lower self worth to a place I don’t want it to be
[–]CodeEmotional9593 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
An alpha would have options so would not even notice if she didn't respond. So if you want to be on alpha behaviour, you just act as if nothing happened and be persistent.
To be an alpha you have to approach relentlessly and have so many options u don't even remember who the heck they are.
That's when THEY start competing for YOUR attention.
Online dating is all beta game anyway. Real men do daygame.

Sometimes you have so many matches & so many potential dates lined up that you can't juggle them together. So you go through them one by one.
OP, unless your reason is only to fuck and not take things more seriously, go ahead with flaky / ghosting girls. Otherwise, I would not accept this type of behavior because it shows lack of character, integrity and respect for my time and myself. Accepting this type of behavior is also encouraging it

If I had to guess, at least half of all women on these dating apps have little or no intention of meeting up with anyone (unless he's very muscular/good looking) and are on there only for validation. Look for clear IOIs and make alternative plans if she doesn't show up. Yeah it's shitty, but that's just what happens
[–]RapTVCalifornia 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
“Oh sorry I’m currently dating someone, bye”
Do you want to go? Then go meet her. You don’t know her yet and online and specially Tinder isn’t too personal or serious. Judge her on the first date she offers :) If you feel you rather not cos you feel offended by her behaviour, then don’t. Or, you can go if you like her and tell her in person. What happened those weeks? And fet her perspective. Good luck!
