Everyone's always asking on here for date ideas. This one is golden, and every time I pull it out on day 2 or 3 it's done wonders.

I call it night golfing.

Things to note:

  1. I have no golfing experience
  2. This date costs under $10
  3. It may be illegal. But who gives.

Materials:

  1. Golf Balls
  2. Golf Tees
  3. Glow in the dark sticks
  4. A plastic bag
  5. Golf Clubs

I take the ladies down to a portion of the lake where there is no one else. I pull out the golf balls, we cover em in glow in the dark stuff, and then we hit them over the water. You get to watch them as they glowfully travel across the water, it's perfect. Also, It's awesome because it is completely original, makes for great kino, and shows you as a adventurous man. Usually after we're done golfing I conveniently have a blanket in the back of my car to go sit out by the lake :) they seem surprised every time.

TL;DR: buy glow sticks and golf balls. Mix the two together and go golf somewhere. For me that's at the lake. But it could be from a park outside your city etc.... Good luck.

EDIT #1: OP will deliver more ideas upon getting home in a few hours. I didn't know that there would be a such a positive reaction to this. Until then... Good luck gents.

EDIT #2: Portions of which are from an e-mail I sent to one of you.

I'm a big fan of playing on playgrounds and teasing the girl about being kids again. It works well in my city (not to big so lots of park area) and some girls eat that stuff up. It also functions well into a nice transition to sitting on the playground talking about embarrassing childhood moments (solid rapport stuff). Getting a girl to be a kid again lowers her barriers to trusting you as a person. Rules with Playgrounds:

  1. Always race her to the playground... Everytime.
  2. Swings are great.
  3. Don't underestimate the power of a slide to set up a wonderful K-close.

--Picking flowers from people's yards late at night to make a bouquet for a sick mutual friend might be greatest date I've ever done though. We stole roses, daisies, you name it. Super fun. As you can see I believe that dates should be adventurous, not some boring regular crap. This could also work if you made a bouquet for some random person.... IMPROVISE!

--Another great one was skateboarding with a first time skateboarder in a parking garage. So much fun, and makes for some great competition & kino. The parking garage is great because no one is there, you throw on some tunes and skateboard around. Works well for isolation, and once again, the adventure side of her is brought out.

--Making dinner together works well with a girl that already trusts you enough to come over. Just know that what you're cooking tastes good. Easy recipe: chicken pesto pasta. Vegetables to cut up into the pasta? Red Peppers and Zucchini.

--Go to Goodwill each with a 20$ budget. You are buying clothes for the other person. Then after that you go to a cheap restaurant and act the part. i.e: buy her short shorts, a cowgirl hat, and some suspenders. Make her talk like a cowgirl the rest of the night. It's made for some good nights.

Things that make good dates:

  1. Innovate
  2. Different
  3. Childlike
  4. Depth (i.e: if you are an art major, going to an art museum so you can talk about it in fancy ways)
  5. Spontaneity
  6. The Right girl. You need a girl who's adventurous for these dates to be enjoyable. Also... make sure to be packing energy all night long. You're gonna need it.

In general, my advice for a good date or adventure (I never call em dates because that gives the wrong impression for me to live up to. Instead I call em "adventures" with the girls) is to create a night that is different than they've ever had before. When you take them on a good date you distinguish yourself as a one and only kind of guy. That is what the purpose of a date should be. So... when someone says that a walk in the park is a good date, it probably is, because on that date said man distinguishes himself with his listening skills, his humour etc... as a classy high value guy. Dates are used to make the girl trust you, and want to be in your presence more, the goal being that a day or two later they call or text you because they want to do something that fun again! All of these dates work well because at the end of the date she goes home and tells everyone that what she did was different and fun. Contrary to the boring old dinner and a movie crap she normally gets.

Good luck. I seriously love helping my friends out with this stuff, so PM me if you've got more specific questions. I've been a lurker (4mos.) but I'll start to contribute more if these feedback continues. I appreciate the positive responses! PM's are welcome if you've got a more specific question.

Also... my friends and I would play a game (in high school and early college) where we would give each other a few items (hot chocolate, tennis racket, sled, and a beach towel) and then they had to come up with a date. Sometimes it worked, other times it just made for funny stories.
