Yes, most of the time, you need to create an opportunity.

At first, you need to have a playful attitude, make jokes, tell funny stories. This way, it will be easier to touch her as a way of talking.

For example, you can lightly touch her shoulder with the back of your palm as a way to tell her: 'Oh, by the way, did I tell you... bla bla bla bla.' It's an innocent and normal touch.

I used to struggle with this too, but I've found a few things that work.

When first meeting someone, I'll go for a friendly hug or a cheek kiss just to set the vibe.

Then, later, once we're in a more relaxed setting like a bar, I'll sit beside them (not across from them) to create closeness.

If we're looking at something on their phone and the vibe is already good, I'll lean in and casually put an arm around their shoulders while commenting on what they're showing me.

And if we're having a deep, honest chat and there's clearly a vibe, I might give a genuine compliment to see how they react. Then, I'd invite them closer for a more intimate moment.

A lot of it does come down to reading the room and the vibe, and doing what feels right in the moment.

Something more specific I use: I'm big on rock climbing. I enjoy talking about it and typically will steer the conversation toward her interest in it. If she shows interest, I act unsure if she would be a good fit. If she asks why, I ask to see her hand. I take it, run my fingers over her nails then flip her hand over and thumb her palm. Practically speaking, you can't have long nails bc they'll chip to shit so I'll point this out to her and show her my hands. I'll also say whether her hands would show callouses if she got super into it like me then show her mine/encourage her to feel them since after some years they've gotten pretty thick.

The easiest way to break the touch barrier is not to force it.

You'll have moments that will naturally bridge that gap for you, such as when first meeting her out on the date, when you would say hi and hug her before moving along with your night.

Some people make the mistake of looking for opportunities to touch, or introduce "kino". My suggestion is to let those moments happen naturally, and rather, to slowly close the distance and be in proximity to each other.

What do I mean by this?

Simply be near her. It is much easier to cross that boundary if you're already standing on it.
