you can do all these things but if you are not paying attention to their reaction and you are just blindly going in and doing light touches you'll give them creep vibes.. a lot of these interactions are based on self-awareness and being empathetic.. If you are growing up with little to no social interactions as a child with cousins, family friends, school mates and fast forward to adult-hood end up here asking for advice..

hit up the real world and start working on being social.. there will be a lot of hiccups and denials that will happen but don't take it as a set-back.

Just have good intentions and come from a position of honesty when questions are asked like.. what do you want or why are you interested..

Anytime I stumble on a Reddit sub on stuff like this people always shit on things that actually work, like the one guy that said he “never actually touches a woman until the bedroom,” like, why would a woman follow you to your bedroom if you haven’t given them any indications of your intentions? That’s legit more creepy than giving light touches.

In such cases most often than not you’ll get friendzoned unless the girl wants a serious committed exclusive relationship to agree to never get touched until the bedroom.

The idea that you can't be charismatic or interesting without touching the girl is wild.

Women want one thing, to date up. She wants you to be cooler than her, meaning you're more confident and outgoing than she is; status.

Could being physical be a demonstration that you're freely expressive and unstifled? Sure. It could also be tense, weird, reaction-seeking, etc.

The issue of 'the friendzone' is that guys yield in many ways. If she catches you slipping, if she sees you can't maintain eyecontact, are mentally 'out of it' (self-conscious), tense, lack charisma and energy (insecurity), etc. you're done. The caveat is that you aren't burned at the stake, you're not outed as a demon, you're just not a valid sexual option; you may logically appeal to her but she's not exectly fiending for the 'weak genetics' on display.

Looking at some of the comments, wanted to add some insight from my experience. KINO being the difference between the friendzone and attraction is debatable, but it definitely helps there, and it is definitely the difference between an ok date and an amazing date, whatever that may look like for you. It is absolutely imperative that you touch during a date. Find any excuse to touch on the date. Obviously not creepy touch, but the right kind of touch given the context. And find any way to sit close to your date.

For example, last date i went on I got some light kino going early, she showed me her shoes and I bent down and touched them (oooo suede, nice), she had a tattoo on her arm (wow I like your tattoo, what is that *light graze on the arm tattoo), then when our first drinks were empty i invited her to come to the bar with me to grab another, hand on lower back on the way to the bar, shoulders touching leaning on the bar, more light touch during convo, and when we got back to the table, 'I'm gonna sit over here now if that's cool' and sat next to her on the bench on her side instead of across the table. More touch ensued. Eventually kissed, multiple times throughout the night, lots of cuddling as we sat next to each other, stopped short of going home together, but other than that it was a textbook excellent date.

This depends on the woman. If she's the type to touch a lot, then you want to reciprocate that and escalate accordingly.

But if she isn't, (which is pretty common now that neurodivergency is basically a trend these days) then you want to make the moments you touch her matter.

There's no one size fits all method for this either, you have to decide when it's the right time and place to break the touch barrier in a way that is memorable. Its a small moment that can leave a big impact on her.

The flipside to this, if you break that touch barrier casually all the time you could just be desensitising her to it. In her mind, if she's expecting some spark to happen in those little moments to indicate that she's interested in a man, you might have just robbed yourself of that impact on her by overdoing it.

*I'm not some guru this is just my experience btw

Contrary to men, whole woman's body is erogenous zone. Make good use of it, tease, be playful, mix up different techniques. Also, along with various kinds of touching, you should remember about close proximity, deep eye contact and voicetone. This is a very standard recipe to be perceived as a close romantic partner, not just some guy out there.
