To this day any time you cite any kind of sexual violence survey check the definition of rape. If it says "penetration" thats Dr Koss.

Feminists literally don't even call it "rape" when men get raped by women. That is still the most common view of mainstream academic feminists, and when we had a feminist in the White House a few years ago the Obama administration had that few as their official position on rape. This subreddit actually tried to petition them to change it and got brushed off (the Trump administration has continued using that definition too but that's another conversation).

Feminists are blamed because feminists are the ones in charge of these rape studies. Feminists are blamed because feminists are the ones saying "teach men not to rape". Feminists are blamed because feminists are the ones spreading misleading rape statistics that don't include male victims. Feminists are blamed because feminists are the ones that keep calling MRAs misogynists for trying to change this. Feminists are blamed because a feminist subreddit gives 12,000+ upvotes to defending a misandrist hate movement responsible for the erasure of male victims of rape.

Whoever deleted that comment lives in an echo chamber of their own making. They don’t care about what’s true, they’re only concerned with perpetuating a narrative that suits them. I have to believe that not all self identified feminists would make that choice. But when you have enough people in positions of leadership that do, it poisons their entire movement. Because those with good intentions are never presented with the choice. That is the intent of the deception, and what makes it so nefarious. It leads good people to believe evil things.

We should fight it, absolutely. But more importantly we should take it as a warning of what happens when those who lead a movement start valuing power over the values they claim to champion. We have to be diligent in cutting out similar cancerous viewpoints and strategies in the MRA movement. Otherwise we become that which we are fighting. That would be the true failure of the movement.

The exact same thing happened on /r/AskFeminist, a guy who was legit raped by a girl and was kicked out of college for daring to try and press charges against his rapist made a post there, and I kid you not there was a 50/50 chance that he would be invalidated by the feminist women on that sub.

Feminism cannot be an ally to men when feminists discredit, downplay, invalidate, and question men's rape stories. If you #believeallwomen and #questionallmen, then you're just as sexist as the toxic men you claim to oppose.

Also, what was the point? There's nothing about the original post that downplays male rape. It simply - rightly or wrongly - suggests women weren't the ones mostly downplaying it.
