Boys are subjected to corporal punishment at much higher rates than girls: nationwide, boys make up 78.3 percent of those paddled, while girls make up 21.7 percent.320 Boys are paddled more than girls in all states that use corporal punishment. For instance, in Mississippi, 74.2 percent of those paddled in schools are boys, while in Texas, 78.7 percent of those paddled are boys.321
One high school teacher suggested one possible reason for the gender disparity in paddling, noting that at her school it was common practice to “stay away from hitting the girls. I guess they’re more fragile, and a lot of them could be pregnant and we wouldn’t know it.”322 A father of two boys and a girl felt that it was more acceptable for boys to be paddled than girls. He explained, “My little girl—don’t you put your hands on her…. As far as my boys, I am super hard on them. For one, they are young black men and they are faced with different obstacles in life. I get on them every day, and I know they say, ‘Man, my dad is tough.’”323
Many interviewees reported that boys were beaten more harshly than girls. A middle school boy in Mississippi observed that one of his teachers “paddle the boys real hard and when he paddle the girls he don’t really hit them.”324 One student reported that there are smaller paddles for girls: “They use a short one for girls and a long one for the boys.”325 One middle school student, however, told us that “[s]ome girls that act fast like they’re gay or something … they’ll get hit real hard. When they be trying to feel other girls.”326

Although Srebrenica had been designated a U.N. “safe area” three months earlier, “[t]housands of men and boys as young as 10 were rounded up and murdered ... Serbian TV footage shows woman and children being separated from the men and put on buses” [5]. The busses were searched to make sure men weren't on them [6]. According to the BBC, 23,000 women and children were allowed to leave while men aged 12-77 were taken "for interrogation"---two days later, reports of massacres started to emerge [7]. The “five-day orgy of slaughter” included 60 truckloads of male refugees being "taken from Srebrenica to execution sites where they were bound, blindfolded, and shot with automatic rifles", and other victims being “hunted down like dogs and slaughtered” and pushed into mass graves with industrial bulldozers. It was described by a war-crimes tribunal as “truly scenes from hell written on the darkest pages of human history” [5].

TL;DR Some of these can be explained away, and some the sources are way too old, the rest are pretty solid points. I appreciate the fact that you provided sources for a majority of these, but I think how old they are discounts the validity that these points may have. In my opinion, anything before the 2010s isn’t going to be very accurate to present times. -Women going to the hospital more often is probably what helps them avoid illness and what not -A majority of the time, if not prevented by insurance/lack of it, going to therapy is more of a personal choice. Obviously if your insurance sucks or if you’re underage and your parents won’t let you go to therapy, there’s not much you can do. -Women probably don’t make up many war deaths because for a long time they were not really allowed in wars for a long ass time -I think some of the stuff with women getting away with more stuff or getting off with less punishment than their male counterparts is more a fault of the system and people’s overall view of women being that they are weaker, more complacent, etc. The criminal justice system is in no way geared towards equality, whether it be with sex or race. Definitely would not be surprised if the reason women got off with warnings more is because awooga tits -lmao i think the food spending thing is kind of ironic, due to those types of duties typically being pushed off on the woman in typical relationships. -Women taking more sick days is also something that likely contributes to the better health of women, as they’re not overworking theirselves when unwell. -“Poorer women are more likely to be in paid employment than poorer men.” There are always jobs available, just seek them out. -Maternity leave is longer than paternity leave because women are actually carrying the baby and there comes a point where it isn’t healthy for them to be working, as well as the recovery period afterwards. I think it would be a good idea if the mother had maternity leave for a while, and then afterwards the father has paternity leave, so it extends the time that the parents can be around the baby. -The whole girls being punished less in school thing is also because of the stereotypes of women being weak, not exactly the fault of women. More of a “fix your system, dumbasses” thing. -Girls are less likely to be diagnosed with learning disorders. For a long time Autism was thought to be a “male only” disorder and even now, a lot of doctors won’t diagnose girls with autism. I can’t speak on other disorders because I am not educated on anything other than autism and typical diagnoses like anxiety, ptsd, and depression. -Fun fact, some nazi officers would choose which women would die based on breast size/perkiness :) -The abuse of women being thought of as “worse” than the abuse of men is what a lot of people have been taught growing up for many generations, even though women were still abused quite a bit. People were way more fucked up even just a few decades ago and some abuse was justifiable because a woman may have gotten pregnant and were thrown out or, in Ireland’s case, sent to mother and baby homes. That was fucked. Things that I didn’t address are things that I don’t really disagree with. A lot of this shit is just sad and widely ignored. World sucks, system sucks, and the progress we’ve made towards equity/equality has not really been much. Normalize men taking breaks and getting the quality care that they deserve, both mental and physical!

Yeah, I agree. The point on males being targeted more for murder is the fault of males. Especially with things like gang violence. An article from 2019 reports that 10,300 murders were committed by men and 1,400 by women. 4,500 cases were undetermined. stats Another site that I like for statistics on domestic violence, rape, stalking, etc is the hotline

I am not trying to discount what men go through, I agree that it’s a problem. I was just sharing some more statistics/facts. Nobody should be hurting anyone else regardless of gender/race/sexuality/etc. Violence in general is everyone’s problem, and abusers can be or look like anyone. It is not limited to just one gender
