Ok, people are just leaning into the extremes of this decision. Here is what it will mean if codified.

1) States get to make their own abortion laws.

2) Most states will enact heart beat laws, maybe one (Utah) will outright ban it, and the remainder will permit unlimited access to abortion.

3) It is a mens rights issue, because it would presumably mean that states could require consent from BOTH parents to abort a pregnancy.

The supreme court is not banning abortions. Abortion is a well accepted practice in modern society and the only state i could picture actually banning it is Utah for obvious reasons.

There’s loads with this attitude. The excuse is that “the child takes priority” and you’re evil to suggest otherwise. Well it’s hardly in the “best interest of the child” to be killed!!!

Paper abortion, if enacted, would have similar limits to actual abortion: so some AH can’t just walk out on his 3 year old and claim no responsibility! In fact any reasonable law would allow sufficient time for a “paper abortion” to “inform” the pregnant woman’s decision on this. Namely that she has enough time to decide to abort if he formally refuses to accept the responsibilities.

But how many feminist leaders accept this concept? They can’t explain it away (like conscription) as “patriarchy hurts men too” so they just deny it altogether.

Kinda disappointed, I believe a man and woman should have a choice in having a child or not.

Taking away one persons choice so that both genders no longer have a choice is not reaching equality..

Striving for both to have a choice is equality.

If the world is concerned about abortion being used as a contraceptive, the mission shouldn’t be focused on banning abortion.

It should be focused on advocating for providing free and more accessible birth control, it should be raising the standards for sex education.

I thought birth control was only in the form of a pill until I turned 20 years old, shameful but my state doesn’t teach sex ed, I live in a small town and near to none of my friends were on birth control. I had no idea there was different types of birth control than just the pill till I was 20 years old.

There should be more funded research in providing men with different forms of birth control they can choose.

There’s plenty productive ideas out there to let everyone reach equality in access to health care, and choices.

In abortion cases rape is cited as the reason in less than 1℅ of cases. Some fool was trying to make that case for the justification of abortion.

Women need to learn to use contraception or abstinence. Those are the arguments they throw in our faces. They need to learn that abortion is not a form of contraception, and they need to learn to stop weaponising their vagina and monetising their children.

I have always said that if women actually supported men's legal right to choose to be a parent then the OTHER half the population would understand the importance of Roe v Wade....

It's sad that you're cheering on women losing bodily autonomy because theres still work to do for you guys. I'm one of the many women on this sub that have been a champion for mens rights and seeing how the majority of you are cheering for this because "iTs wHaT tHeY DeSeRvE." I have done nothing but support mens rights and have never screwed over a man nor am i a feminist or support the ridiculous shit they push but somehow i deserve this? I deserve losing my rights because of certain women you dislike? Really?

Most pro-lifers (like myself) think fathers should take care of their children regardless of circumstances, as should mothers.

I don’t believe saying this diminishes how fathers are treated like utter crap these days. And that needs to change. Fathers need to stop being looked at as second class citizens in their kids lives.

Children are NOT a subscription service. They are an innate responsibility. Fathers shouldn’t be allowed to “opt out” just as much as mothers shouldn’t be allowed to “opt out” or force fathers out by means of what is essentially black mail or extortion

To the first topic, i am not a scholar on every clinic out there, but most clinics in Florida perform the verification and prescribe the oral medication in the same appointment. Its an in and out deal.

As for fairness, its not fair to subject the uninterested father to 18 years of parental responsibility, either. It is a topic that can go on forever, and neither of us will see it from eachothers point of view, so lets agree to disagree.
