Good evening, reddit. I am writing to ask if being ambitious about my passions will cost or gain me RMV points. I understand that men don't care about a woman's career prospects nearly as much as we think they do, but will ambition count against me? I find what I do to be fulfilling in and of itself, and I feel like I would be losing a huge part of my identity if I were to slow down or give up on my pursuit of a career as an engineer (with a scoop of political activism on the side). I'm a fairly driven person and I don't think I could be quite satisfied with myself if I didn't have goals to work toward in that direction.

With that said, I'm worried that being a go-getter will count against me in the dating marketplace, and finding Mr. Right is a big priority right now. If I meet someone, should I tone down my personal interests? Or should I just lay it on the table and watch how they respond? Do successful men want to date successful women, or would they rather have a housewife type?
