It may have been a shit test, maybe not. If it is, you probably failed by making a big deal out of it. Since you're already in a relationship with her, this shit test isn't that big a deal.

I see three possibilities for WHY such a shit-test would be given.

She's floating the idea of piercings herself and wants to gage your reactions.
She's checking your attraction to her friend.
She's checking your loyalty to her.

If she's floating the idea of piercings for herself, no big deal.

If she's checking your attraction to her friend, it could be subtly checking your physical attraction to her (if they are similar in body type) or she could be having threesome fantasies and wants to know if the friend she's fantasizing about trips your trigger (though she may never act on it, girls love to plan out elaborate fantasies.)

If she's checking your loyalty to her, your only way to win was to resist at first, then when she insisted, give an exasperated "Fine, if you insist I look at your friend's tits..." take the phone, glance, shrug, and hand the phone back.

I don't understand. By not looking at the photos, you are possibly playing into (and reinforcing) her insecurity. If this was a shit-test to see if you would walk on her insecurity, that's a pretty shitty one long-term. Will she also make a nasty remark when you inadvertently and completely naturally check out a hot woman walking past?

I am partly with my current GF because I can send her photos of hot naked women and go "Look at this hot woman!" And she will respond with "wow, yeah, she is hot" and life goes on. I can't stand insecurity though, it has ruled out A LOT of hotter women for me.

Better response: Look at the photo, give an honest reply. Don't fall into these silly games- just give her confident, direct answers. By avoiding the question / lying you are just revealing your own insecurity about looking at other girls which in turn just makes her more insecure (i.e. by demanding you look at the picture).

The most logical thing to do in this situation is to confront your concern directly.

"Why do I feel like you're trying to test my reaction? What are you trying to get out of this - are you going to try and roast me if you think I'm oogling her tits more than looking at the piercings?"

The reality is that she probably only wants your confirmation because maybe she's thinking about getting them for herself. The "probably" is because I don't know either of you. So I don't know if you're judging her based on past experience and social conditioning, or if she actually has a habit of setting you up like that.

To be honest, you probably did more damage by simply avoiding the subject than you would have if you had been severely direct and said something like, "I don't trust you to not freak out if I you don't like the way I look at her."
