As a white male, I've noticed a lot of indicators of this over the years...movies like 'Waiting to Exhale', a lot of nasty comments by black female talk show hosts, and a lot of general stereotypes that black children are "usually fatherless because ALL black men are bad fathers".

Agreed. Just talked with a buddy (black) on Xbox live. He went on to tell me about how his wife squandered $10k from taxes on material things and let bills lapse. He's out working a job in another state to provide for his family. B/c of her habitual lack of responsibility with money he's pushing for divorce. Apparently the family thinks he's a monster for not sticking around. Wouldn't you leave?

Honestly, this happens a great deal in the white community as well. I strongly don't think it has to do with a race issue, but an economic issue. The laws are simply in favor of the mothers, and crazy people do crazy shit.

Matriarchy has existied in the black community for years. Everything the black community is is the product of matriarchy.

Sexist divorce laws affect people of all races equally.

“Father Facts,” Fourth Edition (2002), with permission from the National Fatherhood Initiative, states:

About 27% of White children do not live with their biological father, 35% of Hispanic children and 66% of Black children.*
About 80% of African American can expect to spend “a significant” portion of their childhood living without their biological father.*

This is partially an issue relating to the War on Drugs, where black people are incarcerated at a much, much higher rate than white people.
