There are plenty of women MRAs and I think that's beneficial. Some feminsts and deluded white knights come here to troll, but I think we deal with them pretty well (walls of text refuting claims, etc.), others are just misinformed and actually think we're a bunch of nazi-KKK-women-haters...an image perpetuated by certain feminist groups/blogs (NOW, jezebel, etc.) and some of the more insane MRAs posting here...but if we engage them in open discussion , I think they'll see that we're not a bunch of monsters and maybe they'll stop going along with the "LOL MRM IS SEXIST" thought-terminating cliches.

I'm a male, and think having women post here is great. It shows we're not alienating women. That means what we're saying makes sense. Remember, this isn't a guy's club. We're fighting for the rights of men, and there are many women who care about the men and boys in their life. We should be encouraging them to contribute.

I am a male, an MRA, and a new member but long time lurker here. I think we should expect that many of the members are female. Some of them are supportive. Others aren't. The same goes for the males too. Many of the downvotes are likely from liberal, feminist-oriented males.

This is not a unique problem for this site. Feministing has many males writing comments, and I've contributed there often under a different alias. Overtly hostile comments don't make it past moderation, but I've written many critical comments that were polite and well thought out that were posted. And take a look at Broadsheet. The comments there seem dominated by anti-feminist males.

Barring a members-only private club, you are going to get other groups and dissenters on any internet forum. Deal with it.

I'm a woman who is very much FOR men's rights (or true gender equality if you prefer). But I'm not so much a modern, independent, self-sufficient woman. I know I could never get by without my man. I appreciate what he does for me and I know that he deserves the same respect and right to stand up for his interests as I do.

I am a female I read this sub reddit out of curiosity and am sometimes I am enraged by some of the things I read, like the story some time ago about the man who lost custody of his kids for being agnostic , your religion should not take away your right to participate in raising your child... thats a whole rant anyway I find men's rights an interesting topic I do not read this to "keep tabs on the adversary" I do tend to find some good thought provoking reading and some time stuff I do not agree with what I read, but none the less I find a lot of what I read insightful and most of the time educational. ( and yes I like to study anthropology and sociology)

I am a man and an M/FRA who's been trying to get males to stand up for themselves as males since 1955, before organized feminism. The only women sympathetic to us in the men's rights v. women's privileges fight will be, for the most part, women who have had their SOs (relatives and lovers) decimated by the latter.

Organized feminism grew out of the lack of organized opposition, and their biggest fear is that men will organize. As long as we merely discuss issues, they are content that they can keep us spinning our wheels with low-key opposition, concern-trolling, and various red herrings. You want to see how thoroughly this subreddit is infiltrated? All you have to do is create a topic calling for ideas and suggestions for action then watch the fem-bats fly out of the cave to attack.

Why does /MR need to be a male-only space? If this subreddit were devoted to complaining about ex-girlfriends, that would make sense. Men in that situation want emotional validation rather than rational discussion.

However, this sub is supposedly about rights issues. There should be room for dissent. There is no need to view every discussion as a battle in the war of the sexes. There are batshit insane feminists, but there are also batshit insane MRAs. Discussions of feminism and men's rights both need to be reigned in by well-intentioned rational people, or else they get dominated by people with overblown persecution issues.

If MR is supposed to be a male-only place, fine. I see nothing here that says that. You're doing the same thing I've seen rad-fems do (this space is women's only, because men can only ever be oppressors etc), and I don't like that. It is a reflection of the "real world". When men have their own organizations and clubs for men only, that is sexist. However, women can have their own women only clubs since it is empowering.

It also explains why a lot of posts are downvoted.

i'm male and also concerned about the number of women on here. i love women and definitely think they have an important role to play - we're lucky they choose to participate.

at the same time, men need a place where they can truly be men, without being told how they should think. when that male energy is properly enabled, the right ideas for creating a valid mens rights movement will happen.

it may just be that reddit is not the place for this.

While I agree that there is an incredible amount of feminist trolling going on (shameless plug - that's why I created r/MaleStudies where trolls are banned on sight), not every woman is hostile to men's rights.

Actually, it was a pleasant surprise for me to see how many women strongly support us. Even many high profile MR "activists" are women (think Erin Pizzey, Carol Rhodes, Christina Hoff Sommers, Barbara Kay and many others).

Many of my female co-workers also support men's rights to certain degrees - not too much though ;) The feminist shrieking bullies don't represent the majority of women today, but they are the loudest and the most politically active.

I've only been here a few months just to advertise my blog to other MRA's, and I've noticed alot of my media posts down voted. The stuff on my blog is all factual BBC and British programming, I was going to allow comments, but I had second thoughts when I thought that could bias the blog (sorry to the few guys that did submit comments in the early days BTW, hope you understand where Im coming from on this).

But the only explaination for the down votes can be feminists who dont like to see/hear the truth.

My coming here and posting is primarily to get my blog noticed by British MRA's, who might also have some media for the blog. My real work is done on the streets, to the guys I hand A4 sheets of information to outside univerisities and colleges, with my blog address 'http://antifeministmedia.blogspot.com/' at the bottom of the page, so they can go directly there.

Once I've got more media onto my blog, I'll be joining 50 other forums (www.modelboats.co.uk, whatever), and posting my blog address in the 'general' sections of those forums.

Down vote me all you want girls. Infact, it just makes me work harder.
