I was reading the link from this thread and I came across that line, which hit me like a thunderbolt.

That line made me cry. like, honestly, openly weep. I have never EVER in all of my life ever seen male sexuality portrayed as anything other than social pollution; undesirable but unavoidable at best, and disgusting and truly EVIL at worst.

Every moment of my adult life i have had to crush every semblance of my sexuality, because I was told by the media, my family (all female) and my schools that my desire to make love to women was CREEPY or WRONG and certainly UNWANTED.

It never occurred to me that I deserved to feel otherwise, until I read that line.

It is for that reason that I have felt I had to ignore women both in the workplace and out, because any attention- any word, or gesture, or simple smile, I gave them might be misconstrued as a sexual advance, and that would be a terrible, horrible thing to do to a woman, who would only be 'justified' in filing a sexual harrassment complaint.

So, Men of /MR. have there been moments in your lives where you felt your sexuality was actually valued? What were they? were they only with a single person, or did you feel like society as a whole valued your sexuality?

Maybe I am really really crazy or unusual, but I don't think I am.

Please share your experiences - it would help me understand the world a little more.
