For some it's the:

"Yes all men, but not me" that comes by association. For others it's the belief that they can cover up or repent for their own transgressions by toeing the line. Some are just trying to deflect any criticism and hatred by siding with the bully per se.

Some are just there to pick up whatever crumbs of vag they can get...

There are of course some who don't know any better and just believe women are oppressed or feminism is actually about equality.

There are lots of feminist initiatives I agree with and lots of feminist initiatives I think are hurtful and detrimental to men.

The question just becomes do you view an organization by the good they do or the bad they do.

Feminists have literacy programs for women in areas that women aren't as educated. Support access to sexual health in planned parenthood, and support domestic abuse shelters for women that are in dire situations. Everyone agrees that's good and women should have help in those areas.

They also can shut down male spaces, protest male events, and impede males in other ways in an attempt to elevate women. That's not good.

So if you only look at the good, you proudly call yourself a feminist. If you only look at the bad, you proudly call yourself an anti-feminist. The truth obviously, is somewhere in between.

Most people struggle with critically analysing things and are easily brought by rhetoric. Taking the time and effort to find out the truth and figure out a profoundly beneficial approach to life is simply too hard for most, they become ego invested in those beliefs and cannot separate themselves from the ideology.

This makes it exposing them to reality somewhat akin to torture. It is the same principle as to how an addict will need to go through the withdrawal to beat their addiction, but in this case its philosophy and psychological addiction rather than more directly chemical.

I support feminism that aims to equalize opportunities for both genders. Women have issues we don’t, and we have issues they don’t. It’s important to understand that it’s ok to pick an issue and throw support behind it if we think it’s worth fighting for. But it’s also important to pick and choose which issues we don’t get involved in because being a part of any moment isn’t an all in endeavor.

Also, I don’t agree with some of the stuff that’s posted on here and that doesn’t make me any less of a men’s rights supporter.

Some guys find they have to capitulate to feminism just to get by and even pretend to embrace it in order to get ahead. For example in many western university classes today if you contradict the feminist narrative you will likely be ignored, ostracized, and the professor will form a negative bias against your work depending on how extreme they are (you would be surprised).

It’s all about virtue signalling. Even if they don’t believe in what they’re outwardly supporting, they’re still gaining some social benefits from doing so.

On that, I will personally say I’m a feminist whenever I’m speaking to someone who is a feminist, purely to not incite conflict and to slowly ease in criticisms of the movement and how it has separated from more traditional feminism and values of equality.

In fact, even if you don’t support what current feminism is, you may as well identify as one if purely to be able to have your voice heard even a little bit when criticizing aspects of it.

I think the first reason for that is ignorance: they don't really understand what feminism is, they have no clue about the history of feminism and, in most cases, they mistakenly think that any action to support women is feminism.

However, just to give an example, the members of the parliaments that gave women the right to vote were not feminists. For instance, in the UK they just wanted to acknowledge, the contribution of men and women to the WWI effort. Interesting enough, after the law has passed, there was an increase from 8 to 21 million men who got the right to vote. feminists like to talk how women didn't have the right to vote, but they always leave out the part that almost 2/3 of all men where in the same situation.

But what is really important is that this change was not done by feminists. it was done by politicians, who only wanted to extend the rights of their fellow citizens. However, the feminist propaganda is more interested in promoting the myth of their fight than being historically accurate. And, of course, those who are ignorant of the facts think that feminism is the movement that actually aimed to improve women's life.

Some men are feminists because they are self-hating, or at the very least they hate a certain type of man. Some men are feminists because they define feminism differently.

For example, I am a first- and second-wave feminist because I believe those movements were about achieving institutional equality (e.g., women having equal rights to vote and own property that came with first-wave feminism, and rights to birth control, freedom of choice, and socio-economic freedom that came with second-wave feminism). However, I am definitely not a third- or fourth-wave feminist as those movements have treated gender relations as a zero sum game (e.g., pushing myths around comparative self-esteem and education that has resulted in dramatically higher percentages of women compared to men in higher education, and the banning of men’s studies programs; exaggerating the prevalence of sexual harassment and sexual assault in order to remove due process protections; and fighting against men’s right to be treated equally in the areas of family law, incarceration, mental health, and economic opportunity).

I think a lot of this depends on your definition of feminism. I have no issue with men being feminist. It is perfectly fine to acknowledge that there are historical inequalities, and prejudices that continue to have an impact today. I would draw an analogy to BLM; I'm not black, but I recognize that there are structural biases that can affect how black people experience the world.

I would have an issue with misandry, or BLM extremists who may be prejudiced against other groups.

So, when we talk about feminism, we need to be clear what that term means.

I don’t think supporting some stuff of feminists and even women in general is self hating.

I agree with 1st and 2nd wave fully. Rights to vote, work, get equal opportunities yes.

But i cannot agree with a movement by an extreme feminist that wants to kill men or physically harm them. Or what ever it takes to vax them.

I think most are doing it out of revenge of what happened in the history. So in a way I get it. I mean some people don’t like religions for the same reason.

But if they are toxic the same rules should, but often doesn’t which is a main problem, apply to them and should be held accountable for their actions. Yet another thing that is wrong (accountability is a struggle for some men too).

With equality also includes responsibility and accountability for ones actions.

Despite the shock-drama headlines and hot takes you see online, feminism is not the same in reality.

Feminism is promoted to establish a further equality for women into this primarily male dominate world. Many men vouch for feminism not out of self hatred but out of love for other people, simple as that. There are tons of things feminists seek to accomplish that has no impact against men's rights and issues.

I understand some real world issues can be seen as skewed against men's rights, but there's a point at which we should ask if one group's rights restrict the rights of another, are they really "rights" in the first place?

Frankly, posts like this that blindly accuse men of hate and vilify feminism serve only to damage Men's Rights and provide the people who you call your enemy the validation to feel the ways they might about you.

They see it differently then you, I can see a feminist saying the same with about women MRA. It mostly depends on which feminists you talk to, which stories you see, and how you interpret it. For example I saw on 2Xchromsomes about how girl didn't turn on her car because she had a gut feeling her girlfriend would ask for a ride home and she did. MRAs took it as discrimination while the feminists took it as gut instict, I took it as trauma, maybe the girlfriend recognized one of the guys as a creep or she still has trauma from past abuse or she straight up didn't feel safe, I always get in edge walking past a person at night and try to take a different path. I agree the poster is probably crazy on how she wrote it but depending on how you interpret the scenario it isn't how it was received on here.
