I don't wanna be contrary but I think if a guy has to put a LOT of effort into being the ideal partner for someone it's not worth it for him, and vice versa. For an LTR or marriage to last y'all gotta be able to relax sometimes.

What makes it worth it is finding someone who you don't have to perform for 24/7, someone you can compromise with.

Can I trade for one that's a nympho instead of "romantic" and doesn't "serve" (whatever that means)? He can still clean while I'm working, and cook 2/3 of the time.

Being worth it just means you fulfill the role the other person doesn't like or want to do, plus you enjoy spending time together. Like if I wanted a cohabitating boyfriend I'd want him to either be a "homemaker" or work from home part time while I go work full-time. Likewise, he should want a partner who makes enough money for him not to have to work.

It's all about being complementary.

Well let's state the obvious, humans do better when they have close connections. Intimacy, companionship, trust, support, and consistent sex. It's also motivation to do better for yourself there's accountability. Most people don't make tons of money so it's easier for both when there's 2 incomes. I'm tired of reading "people don't need relationships anymore" it's simply not true, we will always need relationships, we crave it, it's healthy, no amt of feminism / financial independence dampens this need.

Men necessarily have to interact with women to get anything women provide. Cashiers, hair dressers, health, sex, reproduction....

I love sex and also cooking and don't mind cleaning, but I don't want to handle all the chores ALL the time and all by myself. I was raised in a family where both parents worked and both did chores and cooked. So if the guy can at least do the chores I hate doing then we've potentially got a deal. I do also LOVE cooking TOGETHER with my partner because it's fun.
