Why do men fail to see that women are just people and aren't so different from each other?

I feel like humans always need an enemy, a thing to point to as the reason why things are bad. It’s easy to start dehumanizing an enemy.

It’s a difficult skill for many people to self-reflect, and even when we do, it’s difficult to point that finger at ourselves.

Other people have said other valid reasons too. But I think this is part of the underlying psychological reason.

It’s safe for our brains to blame others for our problems, and it’s scary for our brains to challenge views we hold as absolute truth.

Men and women are actually very different when it comes to sex, and it’s all a consequence of the fact that they get pregnant, while men don’t. Men and women are pretty much alike when it comes to gender neutral things, but with regards to sex there’s a chasm of difference between the two.

I agree, but we construct such complex and intricate social universes and then relegate people to them based around gender that it’s not surprising that as individuals we make this mistake.

You need a very broad, understanding view to see past this. Not everyone has that, yet. We have to expand it.

A big reason is most of the time men don't have women in their social circles for many reasons and it is hard to obtain this if your job, interests or location are male centric. Since I was in middle school I had minimal contact with girls which is why in my 20's I decided to read PUA and dating advice which unintentionally led me to Red Pill in the end.

seeing women as human is the bare minimum.

seeing women as human isnt all you really need to do to have a woman be attracted to you, there is a lot more going into it. no offence but your sounding quite out-of-touch here. you 1000% need something else other than just respecting women (hell, some people can attract women without even respecting them)

I’ve found that women are just as guilty of perpetuating gender stereotypes about women so it’s also a societal issue of ignorance rather than intentionally believing women are not people. (This excludes RP who intentionally believe this way)

Most men have no trouble treating women as people, but find it difficult to internalize that intellectual understanding. Why? Because people aren’t sexually attractive, only the concept of a woman is attractive. To maintain their attraction to their SO some level of objectification is required. Otherwise there would be no relationship. Inb4, someone calls me a psycho loser. Your insults don’t change the reality of male attraction.

Edit: In the context of sexuality, and only in the context of sexuality, men and women are different even if it is fashionable to pretend otherwise. Because if they weren't "so different from each other", subs like RP wouldn't exist and rehab subs like this one wouldn't exist.

Well we are different biologically, physically and in a lot of ways mentally, can those differences be overblown into some unhealthy ways? Sure occasionally but act as if we are equal (no two people are) is silly

Because whether it is biological or social or cultural men and women are treated different and very different metrics in society whether it be socializing or your job or in this case dating

Men already know that women are people but men are also still expected to pursue and seduce and be bold and to lead interactions with women and that's where we get a lot of this frustration

When it comes to intersexual Dynamics especially when it comes to socializing it's hard not to see the difference in how we're treated

That's why a girl making minimum wage at McDonald's isn't seen as a bad thing on her part but a guy who's equivalent to her is seen as a loser

I don't agree with it nor am I saying it's right but we are not even anywhere near close to passing this

One of the reasons is also that men are taught that there is some kind of pride attached to their "masculine qualities" Even though on an intellectual level they have the capacity to debunk this, "pride" is a positive emotion that makes you feel good, so in order to continue feeling that way they continue feeding into the lies about gender differences and women.

You say treat them like humans. Do you imply treat them like men? I do not talk to stranger men out of interest nor do I swipe on them on online dating apps. So the advice is basically to ignore them.

Also, you seem to think that success with women correlates with treating women like personalities. Which I observed is not always the case. Some men I knew, who were successful with women referred to these women as "nice ass girl" or "good enough to fuck".

All you have to do... for what? I see women as humans but I don't feel like that affects anything in my life at all. It hasn't made me any more appealing to women, and if anything it makes dealing with women's constant hostility to me more difficult.

I've had candid conversations with male friends who went down the route of seeing women as something less, as big children. Those are successful men, with marriages, careers, children to raise. I don't really approve of their views and don't share them, but find it hard to blame them either. A common refrain I hear is that treating women that way was ultimately beneficial to their mental health. So, my stance of treating women as humans with equal agency is principled, but it accomplishes nothing and changes nothing in my life. Their choice is pragmatic and it seems to bring at least some sort of positive feedback.
