Last night, I went to a birthday party with my cousin and her boyfriend. A man approached me and we talked for almost a good hour and he asked for number. Being that he passed all my prescreening questions and was giving green flags, I gave it to him.

Today we were texting and picking up from where we left off and he asked “what’s your type”. Now I know to never lay it all out and I responded with, “I don’t have a particular type. I’m attracted to someone who’s authentically themselves and complements my life”. Vague but says enough. I asked his question back to him and he said, “thick or athletic women who are not followers, loyal….” PAUSE. He just listed what he likes to look at and what a woman can do for him only. I don’t know why but it turned me off.

I’ve noticed when men talk about their types, they’re first to mention what he wants a woman to do for him and how they should look doing it. Nothing about where a woman’s head is at, ambitions or hobbies. Just lists about how she can be beneficial to him already.

He cancelled himself out early for me.
