So I just moved and I’m looking to make a solid, genuine connection with some women. I’m looking to find positive, intelligent, and driven women whom we can mutually uplift each other.

Now I’m in a somewhat vulnerable point in my life at the moment. I’ve quit my career path, and am heading back to school in search of something better. So because of this, my living standard isn’t up to par with my age (25). And the kind of women I think I need to be around will definitely be above my current “league”.

Outside of my professional life and financial stress, I am very emotionally developed and have a pretty good set of boundaries. I think I’d make a healthy friend in those aspects, as I’m very supportive and loyal.

I guess I’m just wondering whether or not I should wait for my situation to improve to seek out these friendships. I know FDS advises this for romantic relationships, but does it apply here? Because I strongly feel that I need some friendships in order to improve. I’d been waiting to take any leaps in connecting specifically because I felt embarrassed by my set-backs, and I’m starting to think that this was the wrong approach. Cause here I am a year later, my situation has somewhat improved (I’ve found a new career goal and am currently enrolled, planning to start in the summer/fall, in therapy, have had exactly 0 drama in 2 years and counting), but I still lack some self-esteem because of how isolated I’ve become.

So what do y’all think I should do here??
